HARD BOILED CRIME AND CORRUPTION!"I therefore cabled to my friend, Wilson Hargreave, of the New York Police Bureau, who has more than once made use of my knowledge of London crime."

––– Sherlock Holmes, The Adventure of the Dancing Men

A desperate heiress.

A brutal murder.

A corrupt police force.

Sgt. Wilson Hargreave, one-time protégé of the Great Detective, has few friends and fewer options as he searches the seedy underbelly of 1890s New York City for a maniacal killer. From the private clubs and posh parties of the elite to the merciless, gang-infested streets of the slums, the murderer's trail brings Sgt. Hargreave face-to-face with danger at every turn.

It will take every trick and skill learned from the Sleuth of Baker Street, and from his own criminal past, for Hargreave to survive...

Caesar, Now Be Still is the latest novel from veteran author Frank Schildiner, and his first for Belanger Books.

I picked this up while it was free on Amazon and it was amazing. I loved the premise, the richness of the setting, and the twisted plot, but the best part was the main character - Wilson Hargreave (or Frenchy). Mr. Schildiner gave him a ton of depth. Plus, Hargreave kicks ass all the way around. I'll be looking for more of this series.
