A guide to growing old flowering species, each one readily available today. For every plant there is both a description of the plant's history and full guidance on care and propagation.
Antique Flowers: A Guide to Using Old-Fashioned Species in Contemporary Gardens by Katherine Whiteside (Villard Books New York 1989) (635+/-) is a beautifully photographed gardening book. It contains some interesting information about lesser-used flower species, but the text definitely takes a backseat to the photography in this volume. My rating: 6.5/10, finished 7/27/13.
