Excellent book. Most of it is "common sense," but stuff that you may not keep at the forefront of your mind much less document and check up on. Would recommend to any high schooler or 20-something year old to keep in mind as they start their career or begin to make career alterations.

Amazing book...just chock full of useful information that will truly help you to succeed in life. The best thing about this book are the exercises in the back that create your Clarity Blueprint. This book explores not only how you should take a record of how you are spending your days but is also talks about the beliefs you have about various things and how it makes you see the world and make decisions. It helps you to examine your life and create an action plan that will assist you in reaching your goal. The exercises allow you to you create your plan, explore your strengths, weaknesses, gifts, talents, opportunities as well as any threats to your goals. It asks you to not only create a vision of what you want in your life but also to envision how you want your life to change from the way it is now and what you have to do to motivate yourself to change in that aspect. I absolutely loved this book and will be keeping it in my personal library to reflect on in the future multiple times just to remind me to stay focused on my goals. My number one thing to remember is that execution is the only way to get to where you want to go. We can do all the exercises in the world, create all the plans we can envision, but if we don't start somewhere by doing something, we won't be able to succeed at all. It all takes action. That's what will get us to where we want to be. And that is the #1 key to reaching our goals! Don't miss out on this fantastic book...you will get valuable information on every single page that you read!!!)

Excerpt from the book:
"Certain thoughts related to the past and future are priority killers that produce powerful mental distractions that can stop you dead in your tracks. I'm talking about the fears and concerns we have regarding the future and the excessive baggage we carry from the past into each new day. Successful people can put the past behind them, although they learn from it. Successful people also do not dwell too much on the speculative nature of the future; their primary focus is on doing what they must do today."

This is an old-school-classic style book. It doesn't have much that's new; it's about the fundamentals (get clear on what you want and why you want it, don't try to do it all, narrow your focus, don't procrastinate, etc.). It's high inspiration and an easy read.

While at first it sounded promising, I ended up feeling like a few concepts were over worked on to becoming the kind of marketing blurbs that make consultants sound as being full of platitudes without essence. In no way can I criticize the author's success with real executives, which seems to be great. But I just think that the book is not a viable shortcut to what he obviously achieves in person.

Sorry guys struggled with this one. The material is sound advice, but I failed to connect with Jeary's style of writing. To me it was repetitive and redundant material stated over and over again. (Yes, I know exactly what I just wrote - it was intended to be funny.)

Yes the material to me was better captured by Stephen Covey's books. Spend your money there and pass on this book.

One of the best books I have read on goal setting and the process of achieving goals.
