The movie was recommended to me. I love to read and decided to read the three books first. I then I had to subscribe to NetFlix to watch the movies. I am glad I read the books first as they made the movie make more sense and filled in the blanks. The movie does not do justice to the books. The positive thing about the movies were seeing Massimo, Nacho, Laura and Olga in character. The men were HOT!!! There was no way I would have been able to conjure up how these men looked in my imagination.

When reading I had a hard time liking Laura. She seemed short tempered and usually jumped to conclusions. I won't give out any spoilers. But I did like the relationship between Laura and her best friend Olga. I did feel badly for her when Massimo kidnapped her and planned to hold her for a year.

Martin, Laura's boyfriend at the beginning was a real dud. He did not pay the attention to Laura as he ought to have. Especially on her birthday. Massimo I believe tried to turn over a new leaf for Laura. Unfortunately, he was too damaged to really change and his true colors came out towards the end. I really liked Nacho. Despite his profession he was down to earth, had a good healthy head on his shoulders and was not afraid of showing his emotions. He was a man's man. He lived his life with nothing to prove to anyone, he was comfortable in his own skin and was patient and kind to Laura. They became good friends before anything else transpired.

I do not consider these books BDSM at all. "50 Shades of Grey" was more like that than these books. 365 was more about making love, sharing love, showing love. With Massimo it was rough and hard. With Nacho it was just the right amount of gentle and hard. The mafia aspect of the story was a small but important part of the story.

My recommendation is read the books then see the movies. You can watch the trailers for the movies for free. At least you will be able to imagine what each character looks like and how they act as you read the books. This was an expensive choice but well worth the money. I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed
Entertaining
Funny
Happily Ever After
Page-turner
Romantic
Realistic
Scary
Steamy
Tragic
Twisted
Unpredictable

For those of you who are looking for another 50 Shades - this isn't it. This is a MAFIA romance, not BDSM. I've read a ton of reviews that seem to be very confused about this. Many people just read the books because of the movie, expecting a softer reading experience. You won't find that here. This book is for those who understand what MAFIA romances are.

"If you haven’t found the moral in my story, I’m in a hurry to explain. The 365 Days Trilogy does not glorify rape and Stockholm syndrome. Massimo, as you can see, is not perfect or flawless, and Laura is stupid. I’m sorry, but if you fell for the charm of the main character, you’ve probably done it more than once in real life. But remember! All that glitters is not gold, and money and the appearance of happiness do not bring true happiness. Freedom, independence, space, and partnership count, not dictatorship and expensive shoes." - Blanka Lipinska

Laura is kidnapped by Massimo, a Don of the Italian mafia. He gives her 365 days to fall in love with him, if she doesn’t, she can return to her life in Poland. But if she tries to escape before the year is up, he’ll kill her family.

Blanka Lipinska did a wonderful job developing the characters. The plot twists were also surprising.

This series was translated into English from Polish. Some ideas and emotions didn’t translate as well as they should, I had to read several paragraphs over to grasp the whole concept but overall it’s a good read.

There’s plenty of drama, violence, adventure, and of course, smut to keep this girl happy. If you’re a fan of mafia romance then you’ll need to add this one to your collection!

If you’ve seen the previews of the movies then you have an idea of what this book is about. I watched the first movie before knowing about the book series. I really liked the movie and fell in love with the books. Like they always say: the book is better than the movie, this is very true in this instance. Although I enjoyed the first movie, I couldn’t stand the two that followed. They just became all bout sex and completely dropped the storyline. If you haven’t watched the movies, don’t waste your time just jump straight into the books!

Yikes…. This trilogy was not for me. The first book wasn’t the worst but after that, things definitely went downhill. The FMC is vapid, hypocritical, and honestly a very stupid 29 year old who acts like a high schooler. The female best friend is equally vapid and stupid. They really just encourage each other down a trail of stupidity. I’m really not sure how all these dudes are soooo in love with Laura. At least Olga was funny while Laura had the personality of a piece of cardboard. Also, was it just me or was there an obscene amount of slut-shaming that just didn’t make sense with the seeming theme and message of the books? I don’t know. Maybe it was just me and I’m being a hater. But I hated these books.

So much hype...kind of a let down

I saw the movie first and thought I'd give this a try. It was OK. It wasn't horrible, but I didn't think it was amazing either. By the time I got to the third book, Laura's character was just too much for me. I'm glad she ended up with Nacho but her indecisiveness was annoying. At one point I just wanted to shake her by her shoulders and yell at her to just leave the men alone and focus on herself. Again, I'm glad she ends up with Nacho, but he could do better than Laura.

Mafia, gangsters, and love

Very good read. Must get all books, read back to back. You get the whys and wherefores then.
Hope the author writes even more books like these three.
