The atmosphere is showcased well. Great mystery elements throughout each chapter as Colden navigates his new life in the mysterious town. Sadly, several story points introduced through the tale at various stages lose their meaning or lack any connection towards the primary struggle.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read.

Welcome to New Brook West, where things are a little off-kilter. For Colden life has been hard, but he thinks that could change. Then again, nothing is always as it seems or as we hope. Being the station master in a new place, Colden finds a darkness and a mystery beneath the surface. This is a long book but flies by because this author has a great writing style that keeps the story flowing. I am glad to have found this new author and look forward to reading more books in the future.
