Fawn loses her father, her home, and her memory during the Niobrara River flood. When friends invite her to Ivy' s Inn, she has no choice but accept their help... and to believe what others tell her about who she is.
As a young man, Jarett loved Fawn, but she betrayed him. Now she' s back, doesn' t remember him, and seems like a different person. He has to fight a growing attraction to this new and improved version of his lost love. Tangled in those emotions is the yearning to embrace his former heritage of owning ranch land for his cattle, now in a leased pasture that's up for sale.
As circumstances bring them together Fawn falls for Jarett, but Jarett is wary, standoffish, and obviously has a secret.
Love. Trust. Second chances. Will the return of her memory destroy them?
I enjoyed Fawn and Jarett's story very much. Fawn has lost her father, home, and memories from a major flood. She's struggling with knowing who she is. She's invited by Dawson and Roni to stay at Ivy's Inn to help her gain her bearings and possibly regain her memories. Jarett owns cattle and rents land near the inn from Dawson's brother, Wayne. Dawson and Roni have to leave for a week and Jarett stays in the barn sleeping room so he can be close in case Fawn needs him. They dated in high school which Fawn doesn't remember. Something happened right after Fawn graduated that caused Jarrett to break up with her. Jarett still has feelings for Fawn but he's not sure if she'll hurt him again. They get to spend a week getting to know each other again. They both lean a lot on the Lord and his plans for them. LoRee Peery does a great job including a Christian theme into her stories without being preachy. I loved getting to see Dawson, Roni, Ivy, and Hugo from the first book in the series. If you like sweet, clean, Christian romance, you will love this story.
Have you ever dealt with a loss as simple as not remembering what the fall season feels like? This is something Fawn had to learn all over again when tragedy takes away her memory, her family, her life. Until.... Until Jarett. Escape to a small Nebraska town for Without A Home and discover a story filled with love, hope, faith and the story of how to live again. Such a heartfelt read you don't want to miss.
The second installment is this series continues to inspire hope amidst tragedy, peace despite despair and joy from knowing the God within, always there, forever constant, loving unconditionally and faithful through it all. A sweet story sure to lift the spirit of each reader!
