This art books contains so many arts from popular artists. I love the part where painting the night sky from Vincent Van Gogh. This book is essential for kids.
Mya’s is interested in learning more about Art. I found this art project book to have a section on Dragons. The project is to create a print of a dragon in the style of Katsushika Hokusai. The materials may be challenging to get but easy to adapt and easy to follow. Other sections in the book introduce artists and works of art. Giving 2 pages of information and actual art and then 2-4 pages on how readers can create their own art in similar style. I want to try some of these ideas with my own little artist.
This is a link to the special dragons that Mya is interested in and to her art interest. My Art book is a nonfiction book written for 7-11 year olds. Mya may need some help with directions and obtaining supplies to complete the projects. This could have make for a great read aloud opportunity.
Hook: This will show you how to create your own dragons and introduce you to some well-known artist. The projects are step by step and will be fun. Maybe we could have an art club meeting in the library and display the finished projects.
Great ideas for projects to go along with lessons about various artists. Unfortunately, many of the projects would be difficult to do with a group and/or without a budget.
