Writing is my passion and my mission is to provide readers with romance novels that will whisk them away into another world and from the daily grind of life - one book at a time.
I’m so sad to see this series end. You really feel like you’re a part of the family. It got a little hokey at times (every single one played the guitar? Or drank scotch?) All the characters were interesting. Sam was my favorite. Simon second. Love the way he flew off the handle with his mom. I love how the author described the beach and the bonfires and the houses. I love that the brothers and cousins were so close. And I love that all the wives got along. That’s a huge accomplishment in a family of two or three, let along a family of 11. But it is a romance novel. ;) I wish I lived in the beach with them.
My only cringe was how they always addressed themselves, their siblings, their spouses, colleagues as Dr. So-in-so Kind. I work in a hospital and unless they’re addressing patients, they never introduce themselves as Dr. First Name Last Name. They never address each other as Dr. So-in-so, especially if they’re good friends. They’re friends or family and it’s always just first name. They even introduced themselves to their spouses as Dr. so-and-so when they first met. Using your full name and title is very pretentious. And that not how she wrote the characters so it was weird. I also probably could’ve done without the last two Kinds coming into the picture. It felt like she was just trying to extend the series. Same stories just told in a different way. I could’ve used another book like book 6, where the shenanigans of day-to-day life happened and she told it from each Kind’s perspective.
That all said, I loved Ella and can’t wait to read her story!
I really loved this collection of Kind stories. Looking forward to reading Ella's story and am sure we will read about future generations of the Kind legacy. Ms Lynn never disappoints. ❤️👏🏽👏🏽
