About the author

A native Californian, V. B. Winkler retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy and now lives in the woods of central Illinois, with her husband James (J.R.) Winkler, too many computers, an assortment of SCUBA gear and an overly deer-friendly garden. After a segue into medieval studies and re-creation, she decided to finally get serious about the fiction writing she's done in her spare time since high school.
The Milihra series of four science fiction romance novels, plus one political suspense yarn set in a possible near future, has been taking shape in her head for many years and is now finally becoming a reality. Three of these books are now available as e-books.
V. B. is also working on a contemporary romance and a fantasy.
