This was one of those books that came into my life at EXACTLY the right moment. Just when I was sure I'd picked the wrong paper topic, Mr. Gow's book showed up on my library desk with all the information/footnotes I needed.
Written in a very approachable style with lots of information. Many of the examples relate to the US despite the fact that he is Canadian. His analysis of disaster management was useful and illuminated many issues surrounding infrastructure design in the 21st Century.
