In the distant past, a young man strikes up a relationship with some of the world's few remaining Elves, becomes involved in various adventures with them and eventually falls in love. Fast moving, subtle humor and an easy read. Some violence.
I did enjoy this book the storyline and setting were great. However i found that it seemed rushed in the way it was written and some of the different points seemed just to trail off with no real conclusion which left the story feeling unfinished.
This is the first book I have read from Charles, and I was pleasantly surprised. At first, I thought this was a novel appropriate for young folks, but quickly got drawn into the story. It revolves around a human young man and elven young woman. It is set back in the time when elves and men coexisted together, as the last of elven kind were leaving this place. The story touches on life, death, and monsters of myth, conflict, and love. There are a number of nice twists throughout. As I mentioned, I was pleasantly drawn in. This is a genre I normally do not read. I look forward to reading Charles’ next book, “The Elf-Witch of Bazzleboo”, in this series. I believe many will enjoy reading this book as well.
I sort of casually bumped into this book a few months ago while looking at tweets with the #elf hashtag and given the book was on Ku, I immediately borrowed a copy and read it rather quickly. It's really hard to put the book down and the story is vastly interesting. A highly underrated fantasy book indeed, I highly recommend it.
