I love when an author sets a story up in such a way to where it leaves me wanting more but also fully satisfied at the same damn time!
We knew this wasn’t love based off the title but I still wanted a HEA 😩
Ora was the brains behind her family’s company and despite every expense report, line item and budget projection telling them to steer clear, her father and brother voted on a money pit merger based off a 30+ year old beef amongst two ex best friends. Ora was fighting a loosing battle before she even suited up. 🤦🏽♀️ After going against her father for the greater good she was in so many words fired and told to think about her future at their company if she even had a future.
After sulking for several days, an invitation to Seventh Heaven was left on her doorstep and with a nudge from her bff she accepted it! She should’ve known that with the invitation coming from the rivaling company’s son, that some ish was about to go down but she threw caution to the wind all in the name of getting her back blown out.
Kayland had his own agenda and what started out as a revenge plot quickly turned into something deeper. Unfortunately due to circumstances surrounding the business merger he knew that he and Ora would never have anything beyond their weekend!
This story had tons of potential and I loved the foundation of the story itself to the point where I NEED to know what happened next. Where the story fell flat for me was in the sex department and also the lack of dialogue! Yall know I’m a dialogue girlie and I really wanted more of an immersive experience when they were at Seventh Heaven. A good amount of the story (which was already short to begin with) was summarized and I wanted to see these scenes play out in real time. Also I wanted more filth in those private rooms. If this ain’t love then they need to be fkn fkn and I missed that element.
Overall this was a pretty decent read and I look forward to what’s next from this author!

Real Shakespearean
Ms. Wolfe run me book two RAT NOW!! The way I want Ora to get ALLLL THE GET BACK. I hope Kayland steps on a random Lego every day until he makes this right. I loved how Ora kept it together and the love in the club deserves around of applause but this series is still one I have to read with big gaps because it messes with my emotions real bad.

Full disclosure I skipped from book 8 to 16 so the comments I'm about to make are with me not having read the books in between BUT this is the FIRST in this series to explore revenge sex.
Like what?!?! This had some serious messy business and family drama. I was here for it. I wanted to grab popcorn and some wine and settle in for the long haul. This shit was a tease!!

And the ending! OMFG the ending! I screamed.
Shout out to Rene for delivering spice and intrigue like always and again I jumped ahead but this is our first Plus Size FMC in the series. LOVED that as well.

This standalone is so lit. I hope I get an update on Ora. Her dad really did a number with business flowing over to a personal past. And her brother doesn't know it all and is following right behind his father. U did good on the first book I read of urs and I'm looking forward to reading more of them.
