For Lauren, keeping her holiday lodge in California's Cascade Mountains a profitable business was becoming close to impossible. Yet somehow for her small son's sake she had to keep a roof over their heads.
Then John Smith came along, handyman extraordinaire. Drifting in out of nowhere, he seemed to be the answer to her prayers.
Yet what was the good, Lauren told herself, of learning to depend on John. He might drift away as quietly as he'd come. And somehow that was something Lauren didn't want to think about.
Katherine Arthur was a romance novelist from 1985 to 1992. She was full of life. She described herself as a writer, research associate (she works with her husband, a research professor in experimental psychology), farmer, housewife, proud mother of five and a grandmother to boot. The family was defintely full of overachievers. She is also known as Barbara Erickson.
Nice oldie, where the hero wasn't a jerk instead was a nice sweet guy! The heroine was a single mom and a widow struggling to keep her business afloat when the hero offered to help around. These two slowly grow close. I was actually surprised that the guy I suspected of being shady wasn't!
