In the late 1950's and early 60's a young Jewish boy called Joey, while not particularly enamoured of his birthright, grew up in North London with an acute sense of right and wrong in those anti-Semitic times. Despite his moralistic views, he often found himself on the wrong side of the law, headed towards a life of crime on the fringes of the prevalent gang culture. Then, extraordinarily, he found himself attracting the attention of an organisation involved in the hunt of Nazi war criminals.
This thrilling non-fiction novel follows Joey on his first assignment during which he meets many fascinating characters, including some of whom become his allies, and some his deadly enemies.
Throughout his first mission, Joey proves himself to be resilient, courageous, strong and, together with his band of comrades, he becomes amazingly skilled at outwitting soldiers, bandits, resistance fighters and the police.
This incredible journey takes him from suburban London into the heart of Bolivia.
