The heart-pounding sequel to The Devils in D.C. Saga takes a darker turn with the continuation of Hunter and Winter’s story of love, redemption, and vengeance.

There’s no rule I wouldn’t break.

The Renegade

My presence is a poison. I've always known this to be true. So I stayed away to shield my son from the dangers that lurk in the shadows. My father’s depravity knows no bounds, and I refuse to let my loved ones become pawns in his twisted games.

But with Winter in my life, I can’t stay away, even though being together means putting everything on the line. Our unexpected, forbidden love put a target on her back…but our commitment to each other signed her death warrant.

They think they’ve won by abducting Winter. But I'll risk everything, break every rule, to annihilate those who dare to threaten us. There’s nothing I won’t do to bring her back to me.

And to get revenge.

The Phoenix

When the best night of my life spiraled into the worst, I stopped believing the lie that Hunter’s protection was enough. Because before my captor took me, I’d let myself believe it was all in my head—the constant fear and foreboding I felt while falling completely for Hunter.

I knew better.

But the truth in my heart is that living without Hunter Brigham isn’t living at all.

Our decision to be together came at a cost. The price? Battling demons from our pasts and unseen adversaries that are determined to destroy us. To destroy me.

And loving Hunter Brigham is the catalyst.

I’m fighting my way out of the devastation of my abduction, and I’m determined to put the shattered pieces of my soul back together piece by piece.

Even if that means leaving Hunter behind.

No one is coming to save me. So I have to save myself.

For fans of H.D. Carlton, Skye Warren, Sylvia Day, and Meli Raine. The second installment of The Devils in D.C. saga is told in dual first-person POV and ends on a cliffhanger. It features a billionaire, single dad, Rottweiler MMC, a curvy, independent, survivor FMC, and found family in this dark, interracial romantic suspense. A complete list of the CWs can be found on Angel M. Shaw’s website.

“For the survivors who want revenge, we get it in this book”.

She had me from that first f*cking line!! Because I don’t believe in forgiving the people who harm you in that way. Winter is a woman who has been hurt almost beyond repair, she finally got herself to a place where she was functional and then she was hurt again. In this book, Winter learned to heal again and trust Hunter again. She cut herself off from the world because she didn’t know how to interact with it but she had to learn again. And Hunter does everything in his power to protect her, even make deals with the devil? That’s all I’ll say for now. Can’t wait for book 3!!

Oathbreaker is the second book in Angela M. Shaw’s series The Devils in D.C. At the end of the previous story, Shadowplay, our main characters, Hunter and Winter appeared to be poised for a well-deserved measure of bliss and healing. Unfortunately, before they can even begin to appreciate their deepening connection, the unthinkable happens and Winter is abducted by a monster from her past. Winter is faced with harrowing circumstances and must use all her resilience to survive her ordeal. In the meantime, Hunter is gutted, he holds himself responsible for Winter’s abduction and he will employ any means available to find his love and bring her home safely. Ms. Shaw’s uses lyrical dialog alongside traumatic events to tell her gripping story to ideal effects. Readers are urged to pay attention to the story’s trigger warnings and to proceed with caution. The question is, even if Winter can escape her monster, will she be able to regain the years of healing she lost, and will Hunter forgive himself for his perceived part in her trauma? Oathbreaker is filled with twists and unexpected turns, we get more background story on Misha Hroshko and again Leo is prominently featured. I look forward to seeing where the next story takes us, life has broken Hunter and Winter in ways not many people could endure but they have found each other and are so much stronger together!!

Note to self: Angel M Shaw is a top author and to fight anyone who questions it.

Oh my GOOOOOOD GOD! Angel what are you DOING here, trying to cause a stroke?!

This book is the second part in the Devils in DC Saga so you have to read the first or it simply won’t make sense. This follows on from the cliffhanger and caught me in its grips from the very second I started. Hunter is at the end of his tether throughout this book and yet manages to keep strong, stable and sexy throughout. Winter continues to struggle but comes out of this book stronger, feistier and better than ever. We love them BOTH.
August is such a special character, he’s growing so well and as a social worker myself, I just want to tell him how proud of him I am.

The spice hits different and I just want more and more and more and more. No questions asked 😂 they’re such a tasty couple.

You shouldn’t be surprised but part 2 in this saga will have your head turning every other page in shock. Angel has clearly put so much energy and thought into this world, it really shows and I’m so proud of her.

Totally Worth The Read…

Othebreaker is on of those books that will break you down and put you back together on so many different levels. And then turn around and leave you begging… NO. BEG-GING for more.
The chemistry between Winter, Hunter and the ever growing and beautiful soul of August. Their dynamic is that of what real families should be. Loyalty, compassion, respect and love are what you cannot just see it.. but you can feel it.

This book has me hugging and holding on to my very handsome, very smart(genius, even), super sweet nephew. He’s non verbal, but will tell what he wants and needs. I need another tissue….

I’m SO looking forward to Reverie and even more of my adopted baby August.

Oathbreaker (Book 2 of The Devils in D.C.) by Angel M. Shaw is a billionaire’s romance novel. What an exciting follow up book. I highly recommend reading book 1 in the series to understand everything going on. I am impressed that the author used the story line with mental illness through out the entire book. It was more than just mentioned it was addressed and visible in the story. We also have a character with autism that was well represented. Bravo to the author.

Hunter and Winter seem to be on their way to happier times. Of course all that changes in a blink of an eye. Winter is abducted by someone from her past. Hunter will do anything to get her back. Even if he does will Winter ever be the same.

Such a great book and I can not wait for book 3.

This was another page turner. I literally have not been able to get anything in my life done since I have picked up this series to read. Maybe I am part of the minority but both Hunter and especially Winter were mildly aggravating me. Hunter with all of his secrets and not being transparent and then Winter’s anxiety levels being exacerbated by the secrets being finally exposed. Hunter’s quest for control was having the opposite effect on Winter who also needs control to keep the panic mania away. It was a little exhausting reading them go through the same scenario over and over again. I am hoping the 3rd installment will be better and can’t wait to read about all the twists and turns coming our way.

Angel Angel Angel that cliffhanger 🤯💀

Wow this book.. have little words.. I loved shadowplay don't get me wrong but this book right here! Oathbreaker is something else.. I could not put it down! Hubby had to pry it out of my hands to send me to bed 🤣 I wanted to call in sick to work so I could finish it.. But alas I had to be responsible.. but I was sooooo close.

I wanted to snack Hunter several times but the love he has for Winter is to perfect.. my girl Winter is fierce she's a bad @$$ who won't let anything cube between her and those she cares about.

I need book 3 asap but I don't, I don't want it to be over.. Hunter, Winter, and August will forever have a place in my heart

“If you want revenge, baby,” I say, running my nose down the delicate column of her throat, “Then we’ll make them pour rivers of blood.”

***

Author Angel M. Shaw launches the reader headfirst into book two of the Devils in D. C. Saga with another devastating scene. Oathbreaker is filled with surprising twists and extreme trials yet also incomparable love and outstanding character growth. This is a brilliantly written action-packed, fast-paced read that is incredibly difficult to set down! The main character, Winter, is faced with impossible odds yet finds such strength despite those odds, I had goosebumps. Shaw writes immensely solid characters. This novel brought me to tears MULTIPLE times. Also, the mental health representation is wonderful, and the spice is spectacular! I had the privilege of receiving this as an ARC and loved it just as much as the first book! I can't wait for the next book!

I enjoyed reading this book. Once I started reading Oathbreaker, I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to keep reading so I could see what was going to happen next. The characters are great and the storyline hooked me from the start. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone, so I won't go into details. Please read the book blurb for some information about the book. I recommend reading this book! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Wow part 2

Okay but… who gave this billionaire the right to be this dangerous AND this irresistible?! I thought Shadowplay had me clutching my Kindle like it was melt if I put it down, but oathbreaker, I ate these pages up. It’s dark, it’s twisted, it’s deliciously messy—and I couldn’t look away. If you like your romance with knives, secrets, and tension so thick you can cut it, this book is your next obsession.

Angel puts you through the gamut of emotions as you sink deeper into the story. I'm so excited to read the last book, Reverie, and find out what happens!

Wow! Just Wow! The drama doesn't stop with book two of this wonderful dark romantic suspense book. There's trigger warnings, be forewarned. Good thing I have a sticker on my iPad that says, "You had me at trigger warning." The action doesn't stop in this second book in the series. All the characters become more who they are meant to be by living this life. I love it. And another forewarning... another cliffhanger. But I'll bite my nails until this next one comes out. Ms. Shaw, I don't know how you do it, but you've taken me out of my comfort zone and made me crave more.

Book 2 is another winner and of course, it ended on a "I want to know now" cliffhanger. The good news is ... Book 3 drops on September 24 and if you have a favorite character they may get their own story.

Longer review to follow ... soon!
