Captive Mafia Wife by Shanna Handel

Captive Mafia Wife is about a tough, independent lawyer whose world flips upside down when her brother forces her into marrying a powerful mafia boss. She’s not the type to back down, but her new husband is intense, dangerous, and way too attractive for her own good. As she’s pulled deeper into his dark world, she fights to keep her freedom—but the chemistry between them is impossible to ignore.
As a Scottish reader, I went into Captive Mafia Wife with curiosity, but quickly found myself laughing—not because it was meant to be funny, but because the portrayal of Scottish culture was so over-the-top it felt like a parody. At one point, the author crammed nearly every Scottish insult imaginable into a single paragraph, which came off more silly than authentic. The exaggerated dialect and stereotypes didn’t land the way they were probably intended, and for someone actually from Scotland, it felt more like a caricature than a tribute.
That said, the plot itself was decent. The story had potential, with a strong setup and some engaging twists. If you’re into dark romance and can look past the cultural missteps, there’s still entertainment to be found. But for me, the portrayal of Scotland was just too outrageous to take seriously.
Very sorry, but this is my honest review and not what I wad looking for in a book, however doesn't necessarily mean you won't like it.

I LOVE OUR STORY
The third story in the Twisted Mafia Kings will be about Freya Burnes and Fredrick Frisque. While there is chemistry between them, Freya isn’t ready to settle down—and Fredrick has been playing their future. A twist of fate will have Fredrick protecting Freya from false rumors and the Hoax. But now, even the Kings aren’t supporting her.
Freya Burnes is a solicitor and does well in court. She will make one mistake of trusting the son of a man she believes in, and by representing him, and getting him acquitted, she has placed a bullseye on herself. Callum trusts Fredrick to keep her safe, which even means that she is safe from herself and her actions.
The story’s plot is a page-turning tale of the good, the bad, and the evil of people. I liked how protective Fredrick is of Freya, and what he will do to keep her safe. Too many incidences make her reputation and loyalties questionable. One of their greatest assets is the ability to listen and understand one another and decide how to approach each situation for the most positive outcome.
Freya: We make a good team. Don’t we?
Fredrick: We do.
Morven: You’ve found your better half, sir. Don’t let this one get away.
Freya: Do you want children?
Fredrick: Absolutely. I want the wife, the marriage the family. The happy household. I want it all.
The story is a power exchange tale of dominance and submission, discipline and pleasure. It is two people, similar in power and personality, in a battle of good versus evil. The more time they spend together, the closer they become. I like the conversations and interactions between them, sharing pieces of their past—and even dreams of the future. In the end, they discover that together, they are both better. Yes, the story does have the coveted happily ever after.

Captivating read that I thoroughly enjoyed, terrific characters and spectacular plot
This read was a captivating and enticing read from the off, the main characters Freya and Frederick are both due to be married on the instruction and permission of her brother.
However, this is a woman used to being in charge of her own life and does not appreciate being told what to do even if it is by her brother whom she loves dearly. Frederick knows so much about me and I know that my brother trusts him with my life and this is after she has seen something that could cost her life and he knows that his brother in arms Frederick is the only man capable of keeping her safe in his castle.
Their proposed wedding will be stormy and that is just the planning but Frederick is a patient man and he knows how to gain her trust, if this should fail, he will be prepared to use more direct methods and gain her acceptance.
I guarantee that you will be captivated by this simply splendid read that you will not be able to put the book down until you discover the outcome.

This is the story of Freya and Fredrick. I really enjoyed this one! Freya is a smart and independent lawyer. However, she's tricked into representing someone who is with a bad gang from her island. Her own town and people turn their backs on her. Her brother, Callum, arranges for a member of the Kings, Fredrick, to step up and keep his sister safe! Freya knows Fredrick, who owns a thriving whiskey distillery, as a member of the Kings, as is she. She's had some encounters with him before. Freya is taken to the estate he has bought for "his new bride". Will he be able to break through her tough exterior and keep her safe? Will she ever agree to a wedding? There's some heat and steam in this one, but I loved the romance of the story. As usual, Ms. Handel draws you into the story with her descriptive detail of the surroundings! You feel as if you're in the story! I highly recommend this one!

Her too visible legal career and her hard partying ways have begun to be an issue for both Callum and the Glasgow Kings Mafia. When she makes the near fatal mistake of unknowingly defending a member of their nemesis, the Hoax, she becomes a person-non-grata to the only family she has known. Enter Fredrick Frisque into her life. Fredrick has every intention to protect her… and to make her his bride. While she accepts the protection she is adamant that she will NEVER be his wife. She has many “F” words to describe him, none of which is the one that first comes to mind! It is great fun to see the extremes Fredrick will go through to break down Freya’s resistance. The story has some serious elements, some drop dead humorous antics, some sweet romance and a lot of steamy, kinky, eroticism. An absolutely delightful book, one of Ms. Handel’s best. 5 Stars

I loved fun and family loving loyal Freya when I met her in the first book in this wonderful series, and I was delighted that she got her own story. Frederick is dominant and very protective, just who she needs. This story has so many twists that my head was all over the place reading it. I did not expect the way the story evolved. There are plenty of hot sexy scenes as Freya and Frederick navigate their relationship and learn each other's personalities and pasts. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving an honest review. This is a very well written enjoyable and entertaining story.

I've followed Shanna Handel for several years now and have always enjoyed her stories. This is probably one of my favorites of hers. Freya is a force to be reckoned with and her brother is worried about her "partying" ways. When she does something that goes against the 'family', it's time to reel her in. Enter Frederick. This story made me laugh numerous times and it also kept me glued to the story. Action, steam........this story has it all! Can Frederick "tame" Freya or will it all end in disaster? Loved it so much!

This has to be a favorite of mine I loved and adored Freya she's a wild woman and so funny and down to earth, she knows what she wants and that's to be free until Frederick enters with her brother Callum and the plan begins.
Can she be a kept and tamed woman and under Frederick protection. She gives him a run for his money but they are perfection together. He is so patient with her I loved him for that.
I could not put this down I really enjoyed this couple alot, I laughed felt bad and happy. Fantastic story.

Fire and Ice. That's how I saw Frederick and Freya in the beginning. Their chemistry wouldn't let it stay that way for long. Freya us a feisty fighting Goddess. She's not taking this lying down, but the more she fights it the closer she gets to the real man beneath whose heart beats only for her. I feel like their time with Pearl helped them accept and transition into the couple they were meant to be. Follow their journey.

She's feisty and he'd do anything for her.. so together they're a perfect match!

I’ve always loved Freya, so I was so excited for this. I fully expected all of her antics and fight as she is never one to back down. Fredrick marrying her for safety, sure.. good luck getting her to agree. The push and pull between them was so good. He always seemed to know just what she was thinking and they complimented one another so well. It was nice to see the chemistry grow between them as they also had to be on the lookout for what danger may come their way.

I LOVE this story! Freya is such a strong, kicking booty and taking names kinda woman. She lives life how she pleases. Up until she represents someone, win their case and becomes public enemy number one! Her brother Callum and his good friend Fredrick come up with a plan to get her married off for protection!

Captive Mafia Wife was a great story, the plot was strong, it'll keep you the edge, Shanna Handel did a great job on it. Freya and Frederick were strong, let me tell you these two were well matched, strong connection, steamy chemistry, they were good for each other, I enjoyed them together.

I absolutely loved this book. This book was one of those where you wanna hurry up and finish it but you also don't want it to end and want to savor it. The plot was awesome! The characters knew what they wanted and went after it. The spicy scenes were so f.king 🔥. Hmmm Frederick! I felt like I was apart of this book! Overall 10 stars! Loved this book!

I've enjoyed reading about Freya in the previous two books. Her character is so energetic and fun! The banter between Freya and Fredrick is entertaining. Frerick wants Freya but doesn't think that he is capable of love. Freya teaches him that he is more than capable. I loved the story and the intriguing epilogue that will bring the series back to the Bachmans.

An enjoyable read with strong characters who have their own way of doing things which means heads will roll when they are fired up and the chemistry between these characters was palpable from the start. I thought the story started off a bit slow but once their relationship started, it blossomed into a life of its own. I enjoyed reading this third book in the series.

Fredrick and Freya's intense relationship is a battle of wills, power plays, a complexity of emotions, sparks of passion, a search for trust and a confirmation of loyalty to the Kings. There is violence, twists and some surprises. I truly enjoyed these two main characters.

Did not finish.
I disliked how the MFC's brother decided to force his sister to marry the MNC to protect her. She's a grown woman who is a lawyer but gives in to the MMC despite resenting what he and her brother do to coerce her to marry the MMC. The MMC is too manipulative to me.

Wow this book is so good! I really liked the give and take between Freya and Fredrick. She really kept him on his toes. They are matched perfectly in the book. Great surprises throughout the book.

I wasn't too sure about this book at the beginning, but the more I read, the more I loved the tale and the characters. This won't be for everyone, but if you enjoy Shanna Handel's other mafia series, you will enjoy this book too. It's hot, fast-paced and a lot of fun!

I love Fredrick and Freida's journey to discovering their love for each other. There's an African saying -"You cannot put 2 bulls in one pen" - these 2 finally found a way to be together. Shanna is a wonderful writer and love reading her books.

I'm really enjoying this series. The chemistry between Fredrick and Freya was so good! I love how he acts like he's so dominant and demanding but also always puts her first and thinks about what would make her happy. This is a sweet and spicy love story. I love everything this author writes!

Another 5 star for Shanna. Loved reading about Freya and Frederick. These two are dynamic together and their chemistry and banter made the story for me.
