This book is about a rabbit called Bouncer, who is eagerly waiting for his birthday. The day before his birthday he wakes up and starts the day in a hurry. He wants the day to go very fast so that his birthday could come sooner.

His mother sends him to get a big cabbage, but all he could think of was how the cabbages looked like rows of birthday presents all wrapped in green paper. When he dusts the tables, all he kept thinking about was blowing out the candles on his birthday cake.

When the evening approached, his mother told him to go sleep quickly so that his birthday will come quicker. The next day when it was his birthday he did everything very slowly.

I enjoyed reading this book as it reminded me of all the times when I wanted my birthday to come quicker when I was younger. I think that everyone is able to relate to this book as there is always a time in our lives where we await a particular day. Children are able to relate to this book as they are always eagerly waiting for the arrival of their birthday.

I would recommend this book for KS1 as it is an easy read.

Me and my younger sister read this book every year before our birthdays and now we are both adults and sadly we lost the book but I still think of it on all our birthdays.
