A completely reworked new edition of this superb textbook. This key work is geared to the needs of the graduate student. It covers, with proofs, the usual major branches of groups, rings, fields, and modules. Its inclusive approach means that all of the necessary areas are explored, while the level of detail is ideal for the intended readership. The text tries to promote the conceptual understanding of algebra as a whole, doing so with a masterful grasp of methodology. Despite the abstract subject matter, the author includes a careful selection of important examples, together with a detailed elaboration of the more sophisticated, abstract theories.

This is the first book I used to study abstract algebra. It covers various topics in modern algebra, from the most elementary concepts to the very deep concepts and results. The style of presenting does makes it more beautiful than the others books (that has the same advantages in content) on abstract algebra( by Serge Lang or Knapp...). The exercises are also excellent, but sometimes they are the theorems in some papers, so you should keep in mind the references when solving them.

It is not hard to write a textbook on abstract algebra, even a student who had just taken the algebra course could integrate their notes taken and say it is a book. It is also not too hard to write a clear book on abstract algebra, one can just try to make proof as detailed as possible. However, it is hard to write an interesting book on abstract algebra, and this is a book that managed to show why abstract algebra is interesting. I did not give five star because some gaps might be hard for beginners to fill. If I could give score in form 0.5Z I would give 4.5 stars.
