I've read a lot of books on vertical development (ego development, psycho-social development) and a lot of books on leadership and I have not read anything that comes close to Cowie's ability to describe what it is like to be a leader operating from post-conventional stages of development. She took me places I have not been before, and opened new ways of understanding the post-conventional mind. And she writes beautifully.

Interesting take on personal development as Joseph Campbell's hero's journey writ small. Blends Arthurian legend with sociological , intellectual, and developmental development models for a truly unique look at personal growth.
