He lives in fabulous Las Vegas with his incredible wife and three boys, amazing children bent on anarchy.
He graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point) much to his surprise and spent ten years on active duty in the United States Army. He deployed on two combat tours to Iraq and received the Combat Action Badge, Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Citation.

Very informative
Good read on what lead to the rest of the Ember War. Knowing before hand that which comes was interesting. Enjoyed the pre history lesson

Heart Felt
A heart felt story. If you read the Ember series then you know from the begining how it ends. A powerful story of courage and sacrifice that needed to be told.

it was worth to wait
I have waiting for this book for 8 years and I feared it would never come but here it is. book closes the door on the first ember war series. highly recommended

I've been away from the Ember Wars for a while now, as it wandered off from the core story and characters several books ago, and that didn't really hold my attention.
The events of this book have been mentioned in the main sequence of EW books and we had a pretty good idea of what happened, but no details.
Probably a good thing, as this can't have been an easy book to write. It spoils nothing to tell you that everyone in this book dies. EVERYONE. While it wasn't the most fun thing I've read, it was well done and the pacing was very good.
I'm split on whether I'd recommend this to someone as 'book zero' in the Ember Wars, but it could work. That may have been the author's plan, to draw eyeballs back to the original series, but what do I know?

Move over HG Wells, Richard Fox is in the house!
A modern day War Of The Worlds that will leave you turning pages into the wee hours of the morning. A perfect balance of human drama and sci fi action that will evoke emotions of anger , empathy and adrenaline. The battles are epic as only Richard Fox can create.
Reading this will only leave you craving more. Good thing there is the Ember War series to scratch that itch!

Absolutely brilliant story of the end.
Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action.

Great prologue to a fantastic series.
The spirit of all the different characters were captured just as I'm the other 9 books. An enjoyable read for sure.

Great book loved the story and the book narration love the book series going to listen to the first book again I highly recommend it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍😃👌👍😀 this is the second time I have listened to it 👍😀highly recommend it
