“Ye are nae sharing that room with me, it’s inappropriate.” “It’s a good thing then that I dinnae care about propriety.”Tad MacBean is the epitome of trouble, a rake through and through. Immoral? Check. Reckless? Check. Self-indulgent? Check. Bad decision making? Big check! And his agreement to protect his best friends’ sister, despite her seething disdain, is just another checkmark on his list of poor choices.
Yet, while Tad was also NOT supposed to like her, lovestruckand foolish seem to go hand in hand…
Catreena Mackintosh despises two things above rule-breaking and Tad MacBean—but mostly Tad. He is the devil, albeit a handsome one. When danger strikes her clan, although reluctant to obey, she’s forced to go and seek refuge with him.

I loved this book! The story of Tad and Catreena is filled with love, loss, danger and quite a bit of bickering and is an absolute must read! They know each other well as he is friends with her brothers and one of them married his sister. The two have always bickered and I love how that continues as their relationship begins to change. He will take her to his own castle to keep her safe from a shared enemy and things will really heat up while there. As always, there is a bit of danger they must first overcome and Tad will find himself staring down the barrel of her brother’s anger. In the end, the truth of his feelings will come out and he will get all that he desires, which includes a happily ever after with Catreena.
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
This is Book 3 of The Mackintosh Clan Series. Although it is probably better to read the previous books first this can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone. This series follows the siblings of the Mackintosh Clan – four brothers and one sister as well as close friends from another clan. Each book is written by a different author.
Laird Tad MacBean and Catreena have bickered with each other for years and seem to hate each other. Illysa Macbean is Catreena’s best friend. When a threat occurs to Catreena from a rival clan she goes with Tad to his castle where Illysa and Bran are already visiting. Will they remain at odds with each other or will they finally recognise they have feelings other than friends?
Laird Tad MacBean is a rogue. He is best friends with the Mackintosh brothers. Their younger sister Catreena is 10 years his junior but she is a woman now and he has been well aware of that for some time. However, he controls his lust for her out of respect for and fear of her brothers. But Catreena is in danger and her brothers ask Tad to take her to his castle for protection. That was the beginning. Catreena always felt something for Tad that she could not explain and even though it was frustrating to her, she could not deny it. Now they are alone. Chemistry abounds in this book.
In this frienemies to lovers romance Tad and Catreena grew up together always quarreling about one thing or another. When their clans joint enemy Cillian Grant sends men into Mackintosh lands to try and capture Catreena it’s decided to send her with Tad to the MacBean lands to keep her safe from Cillian but will she be safe from Tads advances and keep her virtue intact. I loved reading this book and it is book 3 of the Mackintosh Clan series. Each book is written by a different author and I suggest reading them in order to get the full impact of the series!! They are all great books!! Cherie
You're welcome! I'll just say that up front 😉. Because you're going to thank me for recommending not only an amazing experience but an awesome writer as well. I'm a fan of Shona's and that'll not ever change. Her writing style pulls you in and you don't want to be anywhere else but in the book, hanging out with the characters. Going on adventures, kinda like Bilbo! I don't care if you've never read an historical romance, a Medieval, Regency eras, the stories just give you the time you need to just relax and enjoy yourself in a different world. That's Shona Thompson.
Great series This is Book 3 of The Mackintosh Clan Series and best read in order for the overall stories surrounding each member of the Mackintosh family. With this story we delve into Catreena Mackintosh and Laird Tad MacBean’s fiery relationship and how they really feel about each other once they are not doing what they do best - fighting. Add danger to the mix along with some steamy scenes and protective brothers and this is a great read. Looking forward to Book 4.
The entire story as it moves for one couple to another while still including those characters in the next tale is great. This story of an old family friend becoming more is great in that some of it was surprising and different, but the basic story was the same. The adventure and suspense were edge of your seat good while the romance is always wonderful. I loved it as I have all the other stories in this series, and can’t wait for the last two in it.
Shona Thompson is such a great author and I enjoy her books so much. This story was very good with a lot of family connection, danger, friendship, and romance. I loved every minute and if you want to just be taken away for pure and enjoyment, I would suggest you read this book.
Childhood spent in conflict. But ,growing realization they just might have what it takes. Lot of laughs surprise ending. and a little suspence thriwn in. Love it
I was a little surprised that there seemed to be glass in the windows.
Another wonderful Scottish love story , this time between Thad and Catreena. I enjoyed the whole book including the happy epilogue . Looking forward to reading the next romantic exciting book.
I loved this book from page one!! The air between Tad and Catreena always seemed to be on fire all the time. It was inevitable that they would end up together and happily they did.
The story was intriguing however there was a decent amount of switching between the Scottish dialogue and standard English… I personally found it too distracting to continue between the Scottish dialogue and standard English storytelling. Not for me.
This book was everything it was romantic spicy sexy thrilling and he was everything you want in a man man lol he had me excited to see what was next while she kept him on his toes good read definitely
Another great book in "the Mackintosh clan,"Catreena and Tads love story. They have known each other since childhood, they hated each other, or at least they thought they did. Well worth a read
Scot of Seduction is Catreena and Tad's story bringing the MacKintosh and MacBain clans even closer together Cracking series can't wait to read Catreena's twin Dunn. This story
Excellent book with slot of action. Catreena's clan is threatened so they move her to Laird Tad's clan. They new each other as children and they still fight as adults. Characters in this book go along with first two. Highly recommend this book
