An odd collection of imagined narratives written around the kernel of a news headline, rumor, or local legend. Author wrote the “stories” of real historical figures and also created characters to fit the legend. Certainly NOT a non-fiction retelling of local legends.

I was very excited to read ghost stories from Rochester's past, but unfortunately these were neither well written nor scary. I finished the book, but it was a disappointment and because of the quality (or should I say, lack thereof) of these stories, my mother and I did not attend the Ghost Walk itself this year, though we had planned to and were looking forward to it.
