I read the entire book with his accent in my head 👌
Great set of stories with fishing being the underlying theme but not the main story driver.

I found this an enjoyable and very nostalgic read, much like watching the TV series back in the day. The book is essentially a collection of diary-style entries documenting Robson Green’s fishing trips around the world, and it captures the same spirit as the show.
This isn’t a literary masterpiece, nor would it ever feature among the greats, but the book is very self-aware. Robson’s dry sense of humour shines through, and he’s very much a moaner at times — but that’s part of his charm and exactly what fans of the show would expect. The writing feels honest and personal rather than polished or overly refined.
What I liked most is that it isn’t solely about fishing. There’s a strong travel element, plenty of observations about different cultures, and genuinely interesting information about the fish he catches. It adds variety and keeps the entries from becoming repetitive.
Overall, it’s a good book rather than a brilliant one. I’m unlikely to ever revisit it, but I certainly don’t feel it was a waste of time. A warm, entertaining, and nostalgic read that will especially appeal to fans of the TV series.

Really disappointing. I have always liked Robson Green. I've loved the Extreme Fishing TV show. But this book is so full of snark and bitchiness about other people that I just can't enjoy it. I was hoping to get an inside story of the adventures of making a great TV show, but every chapter is filled with just petty nastiness.
Such a let down.

Reading the book after watching the series you'll see its pretty much the same. To my opinion its enjoyable but not as good as Jeremy Wade.
