From promotions to webcamming. Lessons I learned from trying it all.I originally wrote this book in 2006, and recently rediscovered it more than 4 years after giving up on modeling. I’ve left it mostly complete, with some updating and editing. I think that most of what I wrote back then still holds true. The reason for writing this is all the BAD information out there… and information which is written BY photographers and men…or high fashion models, who only make up about 5% of the “modeling industry”.There seems to be a total lack of real and practical information and guidance “out there”. I was a “glamour model” from 2003 to 2007. Never published, although you may have found me on a few sites. I had my picture taken by over 100 people during that time and learned by trial and error– which I don’t wish on anyone else! I’ve also been a professional art model at a university, and helped a few friends and acquaintances to “get started” in promotional and glamour modeling. I’ve never done anything beyond non-explicit “playboy style” nudes, though I have independently done some webcam work and a lot of research into the “adult” industries (as at one time I considered participating in various facets). This book covers the broad fields of promotions, glamour, webcamming and web-modeling. I’ve touched on fashion modeling, because there is alot of crossover with promotions agencies. I’ve placed an emphasis on glamour and web-modeling, as well as on the internet in general. Even a little bit of website design info is provided– because you’re less likely to get screwed if you’re educated :-)Third revision ’ve come back to updating this ebook, after discovering through dialog with other women that the line between “adult” and “nonadult” is often as subjective as the definition of art. The webcamming market is still strong, and fetish modeling is not always nude. I’ve kept the “How to make your own paysite” section, because it’s still relevant. My next article on how to make a Paysite with WordPress is much newer and contains my current advice. I also added chapters on Pinup Modeling, Model Managers vs Agents, sample questions to ask photographers, and updated the list of web-resources.
