Thank God that now I use an online dictionary. It must be the fifth time I've read this book and listen to the 2 CDs, and now I've been able to fully understand it without having to stress about using multiple physical dictionaries. I hope that after reading again dozens of adapted books, my English will improve a lot.

This book is the adaptation of a novel written by Susan Hill. It is meant to be read by students with an elementary level of English and it is accompanied by a CD so that we can listen to an RP speaker who reads the book aloud.
The story is about a man who tells us something that happened to him some years ago when he was a young lawyer. A woman, who was a client of the company where the man worked, dies and he has to go to her house to look for some papers. In that house strange things happen, for instance, a woman dressed in black appears mysteriously.
I think the book was better than I expected because it has a lot of suspence. It is a Gothic story that succeeds in catching the reader's attention. I would like to read the original book in the future.

Q: Do you remember any nightmares that you dreamed these days?
A: Yes. Actually, a couple days ago, I dreamed that I had my hair cut. My hair had become much shorter and I felt really bad while dreaming. For me, it was a really terrible nightmare.

This is kind of horror story. I felt very sorry for the end of the story because the main character's wife and child died after he saw the woman in black. I think this story is really horrible!

The Women in black was all in all a nice book for elementary level. The whole story was just a little bit frightening but remarkably touching. The twist is well-written. Surely it is a great book for children to read in this Halloween.

A ghost story has a sad story. The ending is impressive.
