Woo Mila and Chase are next level!! This is my first book from Haley, and she sucked me in!!! 5 stars easy! The spice and chemistry are off the charts! The storyline of the Nascar driver and doc is so so so good! Chase is grade a book boyfriend material! I need me one! Run, dont walk seriously, you won't be sorry!
📚📚📚 This book was so binge-worthy and I was sucked in instantly!! My love for NASCAR has grown again this year thanks to my bestie and this book made me want to head to a race! Mila is such a top tier baddie FMC!! The way she was faced with such a tough battle to overcome with racings and still showed such strength through it made me speechless. Chase is our MMC and wowwwza!! He definitely had me melting for him and his mouth! But my favorite was how supportive he was of Mila! That was what stole my heart! Overall I loved this one and totally recommend!
📚📚📚 If you like to read: - Grumpy x Sunshine (she’s the grump) - Female driver - Friends to lovers - He falls first - Funny banter … You should definitely check this out
📚📚📚
Thank you so much for sending me a copy for an honest review in my own words.
I absolutely loved the first two books in Haley's Driving Series. And knowing the 3rd book would be a role reversal in a sense i was so pumped! Who doesnt love a stong fmc! And boy is she ever! Mila Michaelson is a force! (Pun intended!) She's a woman racer in what most would day is a man's world. She's strong, driven and determined to make her way. I also really love that she was the grump to this grumpy/sunshine!
Chase Bryant. Oh this man! You can't help but just swoon for this man! I love a good he falls first and boy does he! Despite how hard Mila fights it. She doesn't want to cross the lines. As he's the sports medicine doctor assigned to their team.
From their first meet i knew this was going to be good! It's instant insane chemistry. That easy flow flirting and banter. It's oozes off the pages. The push and pull. Mila is stubborn. Which i 100% get why. But Chase is no quitter. Haley did not disappoint with this one! I absolutely adored these two and getting to watch their live story unfold. Plus the bonus of getting to see our favorite characters from the previous two books! This series is amazing! We needed more racing romances so thank you Haley for this series! Can not wait to add this book to my shelves!
I waited a few days after I finished this to write my review...
*ARC review*
Let me give a little back story on myself so you can understand why I LOVED this book so much. I was born in Daytona Beach and lived in New Smyrna until I was 12, every year in elementary school (leading up to the 500) my school did this reading challenge and when you completed it you got 2 tickets to the races the night before the 500. So naturally, I went multiple years in a row, but my mom also worked at NSB speedway, so I grew up in the racing scene. I grew up watching Danica Patrick racing in the truck race and remember thinking how bad*ss she was to be in a male dominant field. When I became a YA, I worked in Dale Jr's whisky river (in Charlotte), and a few weeks into working, I got to meet him (growing up, he was my favorite)
Okay, so I fell in love with this book immediately because our FMC is a NASCAR driver (like hello, was this book made for me). This made my inner child absolutely ecstatic! And to top it all off, this book takes place in CLT!! Charlotte Motor Speedway was also a place i went yearly, since I took my son every year to see the Christmas to see the lights! So CLT, NASCAR, Female driver, plus romance?! This story was perfect!
Thank you Haley for making my inner child smile for the first time in a long time!
I am speechless at how phenomenal this book and series is. I am so invested into this driving series & even found myself searching F1 Drivers 👀🤣
But let me tell you...
Mila is a badass driver with a passion and dedication and I love the key message is to empower female drivers. This is so effortlessly a focus within these pages that brings such a beautiful narrative!
Chase Bryant, holyguacamoly he is one helleva a swoonworthy guy with a mouth that will set you on fire and make you weak at the knees!😍
“Why, Chase Bryant, are you asking me to be your dirty secret?” “Oh, baby, you do not know how dirty I can be.”
Haley Cook has created a beautiful swoonworty, read that literally made my heart skip during this book. The characters, the banter, the chemistry will have you devouring the pages.
I liked Mila as our main character. She was out here doing the most to show that she could take on the male dominated sport of NASCAR. She was tough and determined, which I really respected. She thankfully was also vulnerable and weak at times, which added a lot of depth to her character.
The plot was pretty simple, which I enjoyed. There is no need for anything complicated. It moved at a pretty quick pace with lots of wee time skips throughout Mila's recovery. I would have liked to have dived more into her budding relationship with Chase, but it was still really enjoyable.
Overall, it's a quick, interesting read with a strong female lead!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the third book in her Driving Series, but can be read as a standalone!
In this book we follow Mila Michelson, a badass female driver in a male-dominated world. Unfortunately a crash leaves her with a broken leg and an unsecure future. But that will not hold her back - Her only dream has always been, being in NASCAR.
With help from Chase, a physical therapist, she faces all her fears. He is just what she needs!
I think the story was a little fast, but I loved the connection between Mila and Chase and I swallowed the book in one piece!
This novel blends themes of resilience, love, and personal growth, offering you as a reader an engaging journey of recovery and emotional healing. And also a bit of spice🌶️
Thank you so much to Haley Cook and Torch Lit Ink for the ARC 🫶🏼
I admit the first book in the series is my favourite BUT this is a close second!!
I loved that this book had a female driver and we can see the racing world from a women’s POV.
Mila is a female trying to break into the male dominated racing world that is NASCAR. Chase has been tasked with putting together exercise and strength training programs for the three drivers in their company. When an unexpected crash occurs, Chase is hired to rehab the driver.
What I loved was Chase fell first and hard but Mila was putting up walls because of being a woman in NASCAR and he was her sports medicine therapist. There were lines that she didn't want to cross. She was the most important person to him and he was focused on her and her alone. Mila and Chase's story is one that you do not want to miss.
Rev up your engines for a romance that’s got it all, because this is about to take you for a spin! Meet Mila, the unstoppable female racer making waves in a man’s world. Just as she signs with a major racing label and gears up for Daytona, disaster strikes leaving her with a broken leg.
Enter Chase—the dreamy blonde version of Clark Kent, who happens to be her Physical Therapist. While he’s determined to help her heal & push her to her limits, will they be able to stay in line?
This book had me cheering for Mila from the stands and feeling all of the electric vibes as boundaries blurred. With a perfect mix of grumpy/sunshine banter, friends-to-lovers magic, and a dash of thrilling drama, you WON’T want to put this down!
This was such a great book to wrap up the series! I love Mia!
Driving With Heart is a he falls first, grumpy/sunshine, racing romance that is full of fast carts and love! Mia and Chase are so cute with some spice mixed in. This book was well writing and full of heartfelt moments. This book is great at showing if you put your mind to it…you can do anything! I really enjoyed reading this book.
Haley Cook is such a good writer/author, I’m excited to see where she goes next! I definitely recommend this book for all!
I really liked the concept of this book-a female racecar driver with her male physical therapist? LOVE! Mila’s sass and boldness was top-tier. And Chase being so sweet and kind, and then a dom behind closed doors, was my favorite! However, the book itself felt choppy to read. I felt that certain elements could have been further elaborated or explored (like Chase having a BDSM club membership, for example) instead of being mentioned one time only. The “we-shouldn’t-but-we-want-to” aspect also seemed whiplash-y. One page they were fighting feelings and the next they were giving in and in a relationship. With that being said, the concept and the characters are super interesting. If you’re looking for something entertaining to pass the time, this is it!
I really enjoyed Driving with Heart! This is the first book I've read by this author and want to go back to read the other two in the series. This book can be read as a standalone if you choose.
I loved Mila's personality - strong independent and fierce. I love that this book highlights strong female drivers in NASCAR. Such a cute romance of how love can find you when you least expect it.
There are some spicy scenes that were 🔥🔥🔥.
4 stars because the plot does move kind of fast. Even with it moving fast the storyline kept me hooked and I couldn't put it down.
"Driving With Heart" revved up my interest from the start! Despite not being a NASCAR fan, Haley Cook's strong female lead, paving the way for young girls, hooked me.
This captivating novel expertly navigates injury, mental health, and romance, striking a perfect balance. Cook tackles tough topics with sensitivity and realism.
The blend of adrenaline-fueled racing and heartfelt emotions made this an unforgettable read. I applaud Cook's portrayal of a female driver breaking barriers in a male-dominated sport.
A bad ass FMC making it in a male dominated sport and possibly finding love by accident. Yes please ! This was a good and quick read. This was my first book by this author. This is the third book in this series and I will definitely be checking out the rest of the series.
Gahhhhh....I loved this book! For the final book in the Driving series, DWH definitely crossed that finish line and raced right into my heart!
Love is a racecourse of unexpected twists, turns, and for Mila Michelson....it's her time to step out onto the track.
For Mila Michelson, NASCAR has always been her dream and as Mac Motorsports newest driver, she's is excited to finally bring her racing skills to the table and hopefully give the racing boys a run for their money. Only, when a horrible crash on the track leaves her spinning out of control, will she be able to mend her broken spirit along with her leg....
Though I love every book in this series, this one really captured my heart!
With her strength, resilience, drive, and feminine vunerablity, Mila was a force! I love a strong FMC and I couldn't help but want to see Mila win on the track and in love.
Chase Bryant! Is there anything better than a swoony man with an equally dirty mouth?! But honestly, what really drew me to him was how he never gave up on Mila. His determination, love, and support to be her healing force was just everything.
What can I say...with reverse grumpy sunshine vibes, fun and sexy chemistry, and emotionally driven themes..it's just a fantastic read from start to finish! Get this gem on your TBR NOW! It's one amazing ride you won't want to miss!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, I’m aware this book in the third book of the series but I’ll definitely be going back and reading the other two.
this book definitely deserves more than 5 stars it’s a brillant read I was hooked from the first pages and couldn’t wait to read more honestly loved following mila and chases story. and who doesn’t love a female driver too. honestly love haley and can’t wait to see what else she releases.
Driving with Heart was very entertaining with adrenaline, emotions, resilience, and love. Mila the fearless race car driver and Chase the sport medicine expert have a romance with twists and turns! A must read!
Some gaps could have been filled. The overall premise and story were good but, this book wasn't for me.
I didn't feel the emotions and everything just read robotically. To me, there was no chemistry between the MCs. It does feel insta lovey for me as well. After their first meeting, Mila already has feelings for Chase.
There is also the whole, confident and outspoken Mila, then all of a sudden she is shy and tongue twisted, then back to being confident and outspoken.
There were quite a few things that made me close the book and ask why or where is this. I feel there should have been more details in some places and lots of things were glossed over.
I enjoyed this racing romance! Mila is badass and Chase is swoonworthy. I loved the NASCAR scenes just as much as their relationship-building scenes, and I loved their friends as supporting characters. I think the story was very fast paced but overall it was a great read.
I was given the opportunity to read this book before it makes its debut to the world and it was a decent read. I did struggle with it in the beginning because i felt like the writing style was a little iffy to me, but it did get a better as the story went on. I did come across a few spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes, but they were very minor. Now that I've read this story, i need to go back and read the first two books to see if this will be an author I buy from. Everyone should give this book a read, especially if they've read books 1 and 2.
NASCAR, a world full of adrenaline and heart-pounding moments full of drivers who think they are better than everyone else, most of them guys who think women don't belong in their world. But, one woman stands out, Mila Michelson, the unflinching and unyielding NASCAR driver. She's known for her exhilarating victories that no one sees coming. Her world comes crashing down around her, though, and everything around her starts to spin out . She spirals out of control after a devastating crash not only leaves her spirit as crushed as her leg.
Chase Bryant is a sports medicine doctor, more than that, he's an expert in his field and after meeting Mila, he's decided that he's going to heal her body but more than that, he's determined to heal her heart and get her back out on the track.
Chase pushes Mila to face everything that she fears is holding her back and, in doing so, ends up bringing up his own personal traumas. Slowly, Mila gives in to his orders and ministrations, and just as slowly, their growing chemistry grows, and a fire grows between them, and their relationship slowly grows into something more than just a doctor patient relationship.
Always under the spotlight, they cross the boundaries of continuing their professional relationship, but as they slip more and more into their personal relationship, the spotlight catches them more and more often.
Can this new relationship survive the mine field of Mila's recovery? Or are their hearts fated to collide in the crash of death of their emotions?
Driving With Heart is the book that will show you how the power of love and resilience can combine with the power of healing all beyond the finish line.
Oh, Haley Cook has done it again with the best tropes in the world. I absolutely loved these ones, just like the ones in the last book. Grumpy x Sunshine (She's the Grump), Female Driver, Friends to Lovers, He Falls First, and Funny Banter.
I fell in love with Haley Cook's writing with her first book and I feel even deeper with her second book in the Driving series and this book just hooked me on the series and I can't wait to see what comes next. The fact that this time we flipped the script and we had a female driver, I was enthralled from the start. I mean, seriously, who doesn't love and adore a strong, intelligent, witty, FMC. And wow, Mila Michaelson, she took my breath away, and she is everything that I mentioned above and oh so much more. She is a female racer in what's considered a man's world. I loved her. She is so determined to make her own way in the world of NASCAR. And I loved the way that she's the grump in this grumpy/sunshine mix.
Sunshine Chase Bryant, he's every girls dream man, you can't help but love him. God, how do I love the fact that he fell first for Mila. And the way he fights for Mila, never letting her push her away, no matter how hard she pushes and man does she ever try and push him away. And the only reason they ever met, he's her sports medicine doctor after a devastating crash left her leg crushed and her spirit torn to shreds.
From the moment that Chase and Mila first met, I knew that they were going to be another couple I was going to love together and that this was going to make a great book. They have such a raw and commanding chemistry. They have this easy way of communication and low-key flirting, and their banter is oh so much fun. They have this push and pull that is the perfect give and take that is perfectly balanced.
I have to say that Haley didn't skip any steps with this book, and she didn't risk disappointing any of her fans. And I love how we get the bonus of getting the chance to see our favorite couples from the last two books in this one, and that was just such a great surprise.
I love this series, and I want so much more of it and I can't wait to see what Haley Cook puts out next, and I will be reading it. We need more NASCAR romance books. I am absolutely loving them.
"Put me in a race car going two hundred miles an hour, and I'll drive the hell out of it. But put a mic in my face, and it's like I have no filter."
The third book in the Driving series by Haley Cook is here! Driving With Heart brings us the story of Mila Michelson, the first female driver in Mac Motorsports history, and her journey to return after a bad crash with the help of the handsome physical therapist Chase Bryant. Does his name sound familiar? It should be because we first met Chase in Driving Force as Tinley's very brief love interest. We get to know Chase more in this book: his easygoing nature, Clark Kent-esque appearance, his doggo Miller, and his firm and steadfastness in his beliefs and standing up for his feelings for others. Mila is a character who isn't afraid to go after what she wants, even when there are risks involved. I liked how she was written and how, even though she was a strong character, she was still human and had some emotional difficulties, first with her healing process and later with her PTSD behind the wheel. She was authentic and relatable as a character.
"When I look at you, I see the possibility of what could be. And I think that scares me more than I want to admit. I see someone who, if I let him in, has the power to hurt me."
I enjoyed this racing romance from the vantage point of a female driver. It was unique and very different from the first two books, focusing more on the physical therapy and mental aspect of racing than the actual racing, and it was a quick read. I liked Chase's character surprise with his Dom angle and seeing how it worked out with Mila's submissive side. The spicy scenes were well-written, keeping the dynamic between the two vibrant, lively, and hot! This romance had the perfect amount of spice, opposite to the rest of the book, and everything flowed seamlessly from one point to another. And can I just say that each and every single one of these covers is just SLAYED?
Thank you, Haley Cook, for this third book in the Driving series. Reading about Mila and all her heart was fun and inspiring. This book will be perfect for anyone looking for a female in a male-dominated sport, kicking some booty and taking names.
If you’re looking for a romance that revs up both your heart and your imagination, Driving with Heart delivers a thrilling ride. Mila Michelson, a fierce and determined NASCAR driver, is a standout heroine who’s breaking barriers in a male-dominated world. Her grit and resilience shine through, especially after a devastating crash that puts both her career and spirit on the line.
Enter Chase Bryant, a sports medicine expert with his own emotional scars. From the moment they meet, sparks fly—both from their witty banter and undeniable chemistry. The grumpy/sunshine trope is flipped here, with Mila as the grump and Chase as the calm but persistent force she didn’t know she needed. Their dynamic feels authentic, with Chase's "he falls first" energy making him a swoon-worthy book boyfriend.
What I loved most was Mila’s journey of healing, both physical and emotional. The story beautifully captures the strength it takes to confront fear and vulnerability, and I appreciated how the romance never overshadowed Mila’s personal growth. The NASCAR setting adds a unique twist, immersing you in the high-stakes world of racing without feeling overwhelming.
While I wished for a deeper dive into Mila and Chase’s relationship development, the pacing kept things engaging, with just the right amount of drama and heartwarming moments.
If you’re a fan of strong heroines, friends-to-lovers romance, and a little bit of adrenaline-fueled excitement, Driving with Heart will have you cheering from start to finish! 🏁❤️
Tropes: 💖 Grumpy/Sunshine (but she’s the grump!) 💖 Friends to Lovers 💖 He Falls First 💖 Female Driver Breaking Barriers 💖 Witty Banter
This is Book 3 in the Driving series by Haley Cook. Chase and Mila's story has been the best of the series for me. The other two were good, but this one far surpassed the other two. You can read the books in order, but they also work as Interconnected stand alone books as well. I would recommend reading them in order for two reasons. One, the characters are written about again in the next books, so you get better character references when you read in order. Two, Haley's writing style and technique improves with each book.
Mila is a female trying to break into the male dominated racing world that is NASCAR. Chase has been tasked with putting together exercise and strength training programs for the three drivers in their company. When an unexpected crash occurs, Chase is hired to rehab the driver. The story is great. Clearly, a lot of racing love went into the book. Some really good (and real) references to places, people, moves and sayings.
Thank you for the copy, this is my honest opinion. Please be aware of any trigger warnings, as your mental health is most important.
Driving with Heart is book 3 in the Driving Series. Each story is an interconnected standalone and can be read in any order. However, I do suggest reading in published order as there is some info that will be relevant to this story. this is Mila and Chase's love story.
Haley has given us the conclusion that we were waiting for. Chase and Mila were a fun ending to this series that I knew I wanted but didn't know I needed. While they had a rough start due to a complication with a forbidden relationship, they were able to become friends first and grow their relationship. Their banter was amazing and the spice was definitely spicing. Chase is the perfect book boyfriend and Mila is the woman that has a goal and will do everything she can to make that goal a reality. While the story is very fast paced, you still get all the information that you want in this story. I loved this conclusion and am so glad that I was able to get Mila's happily ever after
In this book we follow Mila Michelson, a badass female driver in a male-dominated world. Unfortunately a crash leaves her with a broken leg and an unsecure future. But that will not hold her back - Her only dream has always been, being in NASCAR.
With Chase’s help, a physical therapist, she faces her fears and deals with the aftermath of the accident. However, I’d hoped that the book would explore more deeply into the mental trauma Mila went through after the accident. Would’ve made it feel more real.
I also felt like the story was a little fast, which gave me trouble in fully connecting with Mila and Chase.
This novel blends themes of resilience, love, and personal growth, offering you as a reader a journey of recovery and healing. And also a bit of spice🌶️
Thank you to torchlitink and author Haley Cook for the ARC in exchange for an honest review✨🫶
Driving With Heart (Driving Book 3) by Haley Cook is a pulse-pounding, adrenalin-fueled NASCAR romance. Mila is the driver and Chase is the reluctant hero who simply cannot ignore his heart. This romance journey encompasses healing past hurts as well as physical and mental injuries. Chase is there for Mila is ways that she’s not entirely aware of but it all comes out in the end. I enjoyed this book for the unique aspect of NASCAR. While I’m not a fan of racing, I appreciate the skill and talent this sport requires. Even though Chase initially has no desire for the limelight that comes with Mila’s career, his heart supersedes any discomfort that may bring. Overall, much is overcome for Mila and Chase to reach the finish line of their HEA, but what a wild ride that you don’t want to miss.
Finally a book that focuses on my favorite sport, NASCAR!! Haley captured the NASCAR scene really well and I need more of these books. Thankfully this is a series so I'll be indulging in these very soon.
Mila is a NASCAR drive driving her first season in the cup series. Being the only female driver, everyone is just waiting for her to get scared and run off. That's just not Mila though sure she stumbled on her face walking into the room to meet the entire team. Mila is fierce, determined, and knows exactly how to stand up for herself with all the wit and sass.
Nolan is the team's physical therapist so when Mila gets into a brutal crash in her first race breaking her leg he uses this opportunity to push her limits and the beautiful brunette beauty has nothing to do with it. He wants to make her stronger and more resilient. Falling for her though just wasn't part of the plan.
I had the privilege of being a BETA reader for Ms. Cook and when I received Driving with Heart I was excited to read Mila and Chase's story. I knew it was going to he a hit right from the start. Ms.Cook writes a sweet, entertaining love story where she is the grumpy one and he is full of sunshine. What I loved was Chase fell first and hard but Mila was putting up walls because of being a woman in NASCAR and he was her sports medicine therapist. There were lines that she didn't want to cross. Every interaction you could feel the sexual tension but some lines were firm in the sand. When tragedy tricks, Mila is broken and depressed but Chase is determined to heal her not just physically but her heart and her mind. She was the most important person to him and he was focused on her and her alone. Mila and Chase's story is one that you do not want to miss. grab your copy today and fall in love with both of them.
Driving with heart ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Haley Cook Mila and Chase Mila, a female NASCAR driver in a male dominated world, and Chase, who is in sports medicine. Chase is hired by the team to make sure that the drivers are all in tiptop shape and make sure that they’re eating well and what their routine should be in regards to working out. When Mila ends up in an accident that could be a career ending the one who wants to help her is none other than Chase. Can’t wait for everyone to see what happens between the two of them during the journey of healing, will she make it back on the track? I know I keep saying this with her books but I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next! Great job on this one!
