I hate downtime. Detest it. So when our film production shuts down for a week and my boss sends me off to an LA beach house, I'm bouncing off the walls. Hiring an escort to keep me company seems like a creative way to make the time pass faster. And boy, does Alex help me forget about my troubles. He's sweet and smart, and I'm more hooked on him with every passing hour. Then reality comes crashing in, and I’m afraid I’ll lose him forever.

When is the penny going to drop? That was the question running through my mind after Jerome opens the front door to the beach home and invites Alex in. Why? Well I suppose I may be getting ahead of myself a little so let's rewind.

Jerome is taking a break from his job as assistant director at the encouraging of his boss. In fact the whole crew is taking a break. The lead actor broke a leg and fliming just wasn't working. The problem is when a workaholic, a single workaholic takes a break, staying in his boss's boss's house it is hard to relax. Until Jerome decides to cave in and book an escort for the evening. He isn't planning to go anywhere, he just wants some company.

Company arrives in the form of Alex who was about to go on a break of his own but has interrupted it to help his friend who runs the escort agency. There is no doubt that he is just what Jerome needed. The massage he offers to destress Jerome is even better and when that leads to the offer of a cuddle, and it is a genuine offer too, things begin to heat up. Alex wasn't planning to stay the night, Jerome wasn't planning for him to and when that night turns into a swim on the beach, breakfast, showers and well another day and then another Alex is more than happy to stay and shuns every attempt of Jerome's to talk about money.

And that is why I found myself wondering when the proverbial penny was going to drop. Gabbi Grey is very good at hiding the truth behind the words she writes. After all we don't want to know too much too soon. We get to know the two men first, have a chance to watch as their dynamic clearly unfolds before us, see the ways in which Alex becomes part of Jerome's life, see the ways Jerome finds himself loving it and realizing what he has been missing. And when that proverbial penny does drop...? Well I will let you discover what happens but I will say that this is an utterly beautiful love story, funny, gentle, kind, completely absorbing and heartachingly romantic. I loved every single word and I might be very much in love with Jerome and Alex too!.

After Jerome finally has some downtime from his job in a movie studio, he is staying at a friends beach house. Lonely and needing to destress he decides to check out his apps and hires an escort for some company. When the guy, Alex, arrives Jerome is surprised that Alex is a tall drink of water, sexy hair, eyes, tanned skin and muscles. From the first Jerome feels a connection with Alex. He is easy to talk to and relax with. Just needing some conversation and a cuddle, Jerome is able to relax from the stresses of working from dawn to midnight and not having any time off. Soon the men are doing more than cuddling. Dips in the Pacific Ocean, sex in the shower and all over the house fills their days.

But reality is calling... on Jerome's cell phone. Alex is a actually the new actor for Jerome's movie, not Max the escort. But it all turns out great when both admit to feeling strong about each other. Quick read but it is full of feelings! I loved Jerome and loved Alex!.

So cute
This is a quick read about Jerome who works in the entertainment industry and due to an issue that happened onset, he finds himself at his bosses bosses beach house. He’s not used to having all this time on his hands so decides to get an Escort for the night for company.
This is why it gets interesting because when Alex arrives, Jerome is very happy with the guy that he’s got for the evening. But instantly there is an attraction between these two and that is where the storyline goes. OMG so cute
I can’t tell you everything I would love to tell you the whole story line, but then you wouldn’t enjoy the book so it is safe to say these two you have chemistry. The passion is off the charts and Alex brings out Jerome’s wild side. A good read.

Sometimes, the guy who walks through your door while you're on an enforced vacation is not who you thought but is just who you need. This short story about Jerome, a Black producer, and Alex, a white actor, is one of mistaken identity and a hot connection. The charming setting, great characters and sizzling chemistry make a complete story in few words. The epilogue gives us a glimpse of their future. This is worth every minute of the short time it takes to read.

Funny! Jerome, Executive Producer, is forced to take a vacation because of downtime of the film he's working on. He is bored and calls for an escort. He spends most of his time second guessing himself because he finds Alex totally hot. Alex, is friendly, adventurous and totally available. Their one nighter, turns into a mini vaca and there are indeed cute surprises while they have fun. Low angst fun story. Great characters, I'd like to hear more about their lives. Hot cover art! Nicely paced. Absolutely worth the read. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was such a well written storyline that completely captivated me. I loved the subplot with Alex and money! And the relationship building was absolutely superb. Gabbi really gives us a chance to get to know the characters who have such a great dynamic between them. Jerome and Alex's story is as beautiful as they are and oh so romantic, I loved it!.

This was a short, but very entertaining, sweet and spicy tale of two men, sun and sea, sexy times, and a big misunderstanding on one part, and going with the flow on the other. Great chemistry and a HEA, can’t ask for anything more.

A perfect summer read! This was a fabulous and light read, I loved the sense that something was a bit askew. Jerome and Alex have an amazing instant and easy chemistry and while this is a novella, both characters felt authentic and well developed. I absolutely loved it a really fun read.

This was a sweet, spicy, fun, read with great chemistry between the main characters, while it was a short novella, it didn't feel rushed and had a well developed / complete story. I really enjoyed the "surprise" aspect to the storyline.

"I didn’t see you coming, but I’ll never regret you.”

I really enjoyed this book. It was such a cute, sweet quick read. I loved both Jerome and Alex. I liked the way they bonded during their time together which was supposed to be one night, turned into another day, then several. The surprise twist was fun. 4 stars

A totally adorable, sexy tale and a teensy bit of a mix up. Jerome is spending time at his boss's boss's home because an accident has brought a halt to the production of their latest movie. Alone and bored he decides to get a hookup over, and that is where the fun and games begins. A funny, sexy and super cute short story.

Chutzpah, my boss's boss's bed, nectar of the gods

A quick, short read of only 60 pages. It's cute, no angst, and has quick spicy scenes. It's simple and has a good storyline. Alex and Jerome make a great couple. Most of the book is told from Jerome's POV. I enjoyed it and found it uplifting.
