Readers have declared Old Dog to be the best biker novel they have ever read. However, Old Dog is more than a motorcycling yarn. It is the story of a Korean War soldier who has lived motorcycling into his declining years. Now he chooses to introduce his youthful nephew to lessons of life, some painfully learned, others joyfully exciting. Old Dog Carlisle has another, final mission. He intends to square up with evil people that the law cannot seem to touch. The story is swift in action and rewarding to experience. A reader finishes with new knowledge and perhaps new attitudes-always with a sense of completeness and satisfaction. Roy Chandler's books invariably end that way.
