After solving two small-town murders, I’d thought I’d seen everything. Cue the last thing I ever expected to happen—a dog wedding.
Of course, my best friend is bothered when the owner-of-the-bride selects her rival baker to make the posh cake for her poodle pair. So when said rival turns up dead, everyone is quick to point their fingers straight at my bestie.
I, for one, know everyone’s barking up the wrong tree, but the evidence against her is already stacking up like layers of one magnificent murder cake.
Doggone it, I can’t keep my nose out of this one, no matter what my kind-of, sort-of detective boyfriend demands. It’s time to put all my hard-earned skills as an amateur sleuth to the test. My best friend’s career—and her freedom—is riding on it.
I'd been hoping more books might come out in this series but since none appeared, I went ahead and borrowed this last book. It did have a good ending if it was just meant to be this trilogy. I loved that Leslie was sleuthing with Tiffany again. That lady cracks me up! Somehow I can picture her as Barbara Jean from the old Reba show.
That showdown was a crazy one! It wasn't super hard to figure out whodunit but the sleuthing and all the other stuff going on was what was interesting. Lots of awesome things happened during the book and in the six months that led up to the awesome epilogue. I've really enjoyed this series and was sad it ended. But I'm hopeful maybe it'll be picked back up since it never stated in the description it was limited.
I love Lesley and Sophia and their quirky murder sleuthing. This town of zany characters and their love of dogs like children is with listening to by Karen Commins. I enjoy these audiobooks.
Leslie is back to grooming dogs in hopes of saving enough money to move out of her parents’ home and trying to figure out her relationship with Detective Adam who admits to being awkward at dating. Leslie’s good friend and baker, Sophia, expresses concern over her sudden loss of business to a new bakery in town and within days the owner of the new bakery is found murdered. The town’s rumor mill focuses on Sophia as the obvious suspect and Leslie is again compelled to find the real murderer.
The town of Pecan, Texas is packed with interesting and highly entertaining characters and one of the highlights of “A Poodle Perplexity” is the grand wedding of the minister’s dogs who are expecting puppies out of wedlock. The story is packed with humor, mystery and suspense to the last page. I enjoyed this book completely and would recommend it and the previous two books in The Mobile Groomer Mystery Series.
I enjoyed this book so much. Great storyline and characters. Leslie is almost thirty ,divorced and back living with her parents. She's been caught in the middle of a murder investigation. Everyone but Leslie believes Sophie did it because Ms. Mangold has ruined her business. Detective Adam is on the case and making relationship mistakes and Archie who is Leslie's ex husband is trying to win her back Who wins Leslie's heart? who killed Ms. Mangold? Grab the book to find out.

A fluftastic five-star read. This is number three in a mobile groomer mystery series, but they each feature a different mystery so you don’t need to read them in order, but I have loved them in order as they do build, so I think it depends on your personal choice, do you want a quick furry nibble of a five-star read, or a longer chow down on a five-star series. Anyhow, the baker, turned up over done, and poor Leslie really must help this time, else her own baking goddess bestie gets burned as well. I love this author, and find them super funny and quirky, they mysteries are fun and keep you guessing. Overall a very tasty five star read, even if I did crave cake all the way through.
Leslie is once again trying to solve a murder. This time, the clues seem to point to her best friend, Sophia. I'm glad the relationship between Leslie and Adam has been settled and they are a couple. I enjoyed the story even though I had the murderer figured out before the reveal. I couldn't give it 5 stars for a couple of reasons. It needed a good proofreader to get rid of all the errors. There was missing punctuation, missing/extra words. wrong words(course instead of coarse), etc. Also, how did Casey know that Sophia would wind up with the items from the second-hand store? He couldn't have known that yet his scheme depended on it.
That was just so much fun. We pick up not long after the end of the last book, and once again Leslie’s in the thick of things. This time, she needs to solve the mystery in order to protect her best friend. I can’t say I was terribly surprised by the identity of the villain, but the lengths they went to in order to throw off suspicion certainly made me wonder. I loved the way this book ended and I’m looking forward to seeing where the series is going to go next. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.
This is the third book in this series. They are delightful and cnlean stories. They have a murder mystery and Leslie always walks in on the murder victim. Detective Adam Walty is on the scene. He has a crush on Leslie and is there to solve the problem. Her best friend Sophia Edwards is a baker and is loosing her business to Ms.Mengold who is found murdered and also a baker. Leslie , a pet groomer, wants to find the murder. I enjoyed this book and I highly recommend reading it. I was given an ARC of this book.
A Poodle Perplexity is the third book in this series I love! Leslie, a thirty year old, divorcee, dog groomer who is living at home. She is pursued by both her ex-husband and a police detective. Les is always stumbling across a murder. You do not want to miss this amateur sleuth and her bumbling sidekicks as they blunder through another murder investigation. These entertaining books keep me engrossed from the time I start reading until I reach the end!
Just when you thought you had seen it all, you go and get a doggie wedding and a murder mystery! The storyline is exciting, intriguing and fun as we try to figure out who has killed the new baker! I love the small town atmosphere, the entertaining characters and the perplexity of it all with its twists and turns and surprises. It’s a great cozy mystery.
This jumps right into the thick of it and maintains a steady pace. It was interesting to see how the Leslie & Sophie sleuthing team would work through this one. Leslie is a great character and a true best friend. I like Adam too, he seems very charismatic and beyond patient. I received a free copy and voluntarily chose to leave this review.
This is the first book by this author I have read. I started reading and didn't put it down till I was done. The author had a way of keeping the suspension going on who the killer was while throwing in friends and romance to make the whole story come together
This is the first book I've read in this series. It is very laughable with a doggie wedding inside a church. The murder is not so laughable. It is a pretty good mystery & I didn't guess the murderer. I received a free copy. This is my voluntary opinion.
I liked this book. There is always something crazy going on in that town, and it always makes me laugh. I like all the characters and the antics that they get wrapped up in.
I am enjoying this series, but I feel they could have been proof read a bit better, lots of words missing and dogs gender confused. Other than that, good story lines.
Overall: 5 of 5 stars Performance: 5 of 5 stars Story: 5 of 5 stars Reviewed: 03-14-23
Leslie Ann Winters, dog groomer and best friend to the local baker in Pecan, stumbles headlong into another investigation when she inadvertently finds the body of her best friends rival! As much as she doesn’t want to get involved, she really has NO choice. She just can’t let her bestie go up the river for a crime she didn’t commit now can she? Mysterious, engaging, and entertaining, “A Poodle Perplexity” is pure delight! The characters are quirky, well defined, delightfully detailed and supremely human! The dialogue they speak not only rings true, it’s devilishly humorous and delightfully, authentically and brilliantly narrated! The plot is interesting, entertaining, easy to follow and makes sense at the reveal! There is a nice sprinkling of romance that truly delighted me! This brilliant series starter has really whetted my appetite for MORE. I loved it. Five fabulous stars!
