This book is an absolute gem that I highly recommend picking up. From start to finish, it's a captivating page-turner that kept me hooked until the very end. As the debut installment of a brand new series by Corrine Winters, it's a delightful addition to her repertoire.
Filled with charm and intrigue, this cozy murder mystery introduces readers to a cast of endearing characters and an effortlessly engaging writing style. I found myself completely absorbed in the story, making it difficult to set the book down even for a moment.
Creole Catnip Conundrum is book #1 in the Cozy New Orleans series by Corrine Winters.
Daisy Wallace owns a bakery and gets a huge opportunity to make a name for herself, until the bride drops dead after a cake tasting. I like Motley, Daisy’s familiar. I give anything set in New Orleans a try and the fact it has in bakery with beignets is a plus. Daisy is a witch, but this book was very light on magic. I like the ending with Motley and plan to read the next book.

I know from reading another series by this author that sometimes there’s a teaser at the end for the next book, but since this is a brand new series, I can’t just borrow the next quickly on KU. I enjoyed meeting the key characters: Daisy, William and Zoe and of course, Motley the cat who came in extremely handy at the showdown. William was such a sweetie and I hope despite something that occurred at the end that he and Daisy can build a good friendship. I’m definitely eager to read the next book!
I enjoyed this book although I'm usually not a big fan of romance in a cozy mystery. The reveal did surprise me and I usually figure out the killer fairly quickly. So I will look for the series to continue. Daisy is the woman we all wanted to grow up to become, hardworking, loyal and a fierce believer in justice. But competing for star of the book is the beignet loving ginger cat, Motley. Looks like they will be quite the pair.
Daisy becomes a suspect in a murder investigation and she decides to do some sleuthing herself to clear her name. A brand new series from Corrine Winters and I love it. This is a sweet and cozy murder mystery with nice characters and an easy to read writing style. I found it hard to put down.
