A children's tall tail set in Texas where a cowboy named Pecos Bill climbs aboard a Tornado and rides it. Nicely illustrated. Suitable for young children.

A cute story that many kids would enjoy. Our hero Pecos Bill saves the states when he tames the nasty tornado, but not before he battles the talking animals which include a rattlesnake and mountain lion. He rides the tornado in much the same way that he rides the horse that becomes his own. Interestingly enough, so does the tornado. It stays in the backyard so they can have a breeze of their own when the summer weather gets too hot. This would be good to use with kids to teach exaggeration in stories. It would also be interesting to kids to compare other Pecos Bill stories.
