My 7yo: 100 stars! I liked that Taka invited Jeremy over to play. I liked some of the funny parts. It was a really good book.
The Mama: This is a story about a Japanese boy, Taka, who has moved to America and Jeremy who works to befriend him. It's an early reader chapter book with 14 "chapters," but I read it aloud in under an hour. It's a sweet story emphasizing friendship, kindness, patience, and understanding. Many stories of this nature have female characters, so I appreciate the male characters in this one.
