Why is it important for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to know the Father and the Son? What kind of relationship should we have with them? How do we build that relationship? And how do we learn to live by the Spirit? The author answers these and other questions as he details what the commandment "come unto Christ" can mean in the day-to-day living of every Latter-day Saint.
This book changed my life and perspective about the gospel of Jesus Christ in really significant and valuable ways. One of the things I loved the most is when he talked about developing a relationship with the Lord and how we basically do that via the same means we develop a relationship with anyone: communicating with each other, working with each, spending quality time together etc. I had never thought about that before in a gospel sense but it was really good. I also loved the section on mighty prayer.
This book is powerful. It combines stories from the author's life, scriptures, and quotes from general authorities to help the reader understand what it means to really know the Lord and Savior, what it takes, and why it is the most important thing blessing we can strive for.
This was a very meaningful book for me. Well written with many examples and illustrations that made you think of what you should or could be doing to improve your relationship with the Lord. We need the desire and diligence in seeking Him to know Him in a personal way.
It's a 3.5. He had a lot of insightful thoughts, but I wasn't a huge fan of the writing. It was almost an autobiography about his spiritual experiences rather than a book with spiritual insights that he sometimes linked to personal experiences.
