This seems to be sort of a companion volume to another book by Daran Little (and Bill Hill) called Weatherfield LIfe. Both books are a history going back to 1902, the date they have decided the street itself was built and first occupied. This volume, however, rather than being a year-by-year account, is divided by the different houses on the street, describing the history and movements of the residents in each address. As with the earlier volume, this book contains many pictures of actors before they were on the show and, I believe, some pictures of other people from the earlier areas. It is mostly for Corrie fans, though perhaps the descriptions of life in the Manchester area could be of interest to others as well.

I got this as more of a guide book for the Coronation Street novels that I plan to read! I have a dreadful memory so trying to remember who lived where at what time was quite confusing, especially with some characters moving around all the time!

This was useful and interesting and it even delved into the history of each house, including characters who lived there long before the series began. This was useful for reading the fiction novels about the war years.
