The Wild Shadows #2

Devoured by Shadows

Rate this book
Love between enchantresses and demons is forbidden. And the price for their love will cost them everything.

As an enchantress, Arabella protects the realm from demons that feast on fear and flesh. She was never supposed to fall in love with one who feeds on desires, even if he looks like a man.

When a mating bond forms between them, the demon who was supposed to consume her pleasure offers himself as a sacrifice to a sorcerer—eternal servitude in exchange for returning her stolen memories.

Armed with her newfound shadow magic, she will burn the world down if it means getting him back. But to rescue him from the sorcerer and his army of creatures of the dark, she needs allies.

A fae prince with an eye for bargains approaches her with a way to control her devouring shadows and find an army of fae eager for revenge. To do this, she must journey into one of the underrealms and unlock the true source of her magic.

But all power comes at a cost.

Saving her mate means she might just lose herself—and the home she’s fought so hard to protect.

Devoured by Shadows is the second book in The Wild Shadows series. Books are best enjoyed when read in order.

This book is written in third-person POV, past tense, and ends on a cliffhanger. It also features a romance as steamy as A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas. (There's no fade to black here!)

What the reader can expect: forbidden love, fated mates, she’ll burn down the world for him, he’s a demon who feeds on desires, shadow mommy, epic battles, elements of Hades and Persephone, fae (with wings), sorcerers, vampires, demons, monsters, and more, fae politics.

IM ABOUT TO BURN THE WORLD DOWN WITH ARABELLA!!!!

holy lick this book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! when Rosalyn told me it was going to be intense, SHE WASN’T KIDDING!!! I think I sweat throughout the entire thing!

Arabella is on a quest to save Elias, her erox mate. during this quest, we not only learn more about her, but also more about side characters I love, as well as new ones.

the world building in this series is just so fantastic, I get sucked in immediately. we get more history in the world building and it makes it just so much more intense!

shadows devoured me, and I devoured this book. I need the next!!!

What must she sacrifice in order to save her mate? What consequences await should she choose to fully embrace the darkness?

I have been extremely eager and giddy with excitement to read Rosalyn’s second book in ‘The Wild Shadows’ Series, after the jaw dropping cliff hanger ending in the first book ‘Kissed by a Demon’.

My heart aches for Elias and Arabella. The sacrifice he made for her is so heartfelt and pure. The indisputable love these characters share for one another is felt in every fibre of your being. It isn’t just expressed but exhibited. They will stop at nothing and sacrifice everything for one another.

The torture Elias is subjected to is heart-wrenching and I feel nothing but undeniable loathing and resentment towards his captor.

Having sacrificed himself for his fated mate, Elias is now imprisoned by the villainous sorcerer Magnus. His time is split between torturing Elias to make him submit and hunting Arabella, who after their last epic showdown, attacked him with magic he thought was lost and will stop at nothing to get her.

Now that Arabella has her memories back, she is distraught to learn what Elias has done. She will do anything to get him back, even if it means loosing herself in the process and with a chance that the Elias that has been imprisoned, may never be the same again.

Arabella must embark on a journey to master her powers of the shadows and discover her past and true self in order to save Elias…. but at what cost?

Be prepared for the major plot twists that come hurtling your way because wow, I didn’t expect any of them.

This book ends with another cliff hanger ending and I have been left in shock, anger, anguish and I am already full of impatience to read book 3 ‘Forged By Gilded Night’.

Again Rosalyn you have completely outdone yourself and delivered yet another phenomenal book. Your writing is eloquent and enrapturing from beginning to end. The level of detail is spectacular and the emotional warfare experienced is astounding. I will be eagerly awaiting to read more of your writing.

This dives straight into the action as Arabella realises Elias has sacrificed himself to the enemy for her. Now it's her turn to save him, and she'll defeat anything that stands in her path to get back her mate.
As she trains with her shadow magic, she has to make new alliances which will push her to confront her inner demons.
I love the 'burn the world for him' and anti-heroine energy from Arabella, her new powers, and all the danger and chaos thrown her way.
It was heartbreaking seeing Elias's struggles from Magnus, and the anguish through their mate bond.
The story is full of sacrifice, pain, devotion and determination, and when the spice hits, it hits hard!
I was NOT prepared for the ending. Need the next book asap! I adore these characters and world, and need to see some justice and revenge!

Disclaimer: I received an advanced copy of Devoured by Shadows in exchange for an honest review. Given I’m a relative “early bird,” I’ve kept the below spoiler free.

~~~
Devoured by Shadows did NOT disappoint. I struggled to see how the author could possibly improve upon her fantastic debut novel, but she did, and it is here.
This is the second novel in the "Wild Shadows" series, and it is a direct continuation of Arabella and Elias' stories from "Kissed by a Demon". This story follows Enchantress Arabella as she fights to save the demon she loves from the powerful sorcerer, Magnus, while she navigates mysterious worlds, develops unlikely alliances, and struggles to control her ever-growing powers that seem to have a mind of their own.
The story launched into the action immediately, and the author did a fantastic job of developing a richly immersive narrative while building an intricate blend of personalities in the supporting cast. While Arabella is a badass MC who carried the story in her own right, I found myself also bonding with Jessamine, Hadeon, Breckett, and Elias, and I enjoyed seeing their stories develop further as the story progressed. The worldbuilding was also fantastic and had me hooked throughout.
If you are a fan of "KBAD," I fully recommend reading this book. Devoured by Shadows not only carries the torch from Kissed by a Demon, but it elevates the story to whole new heights. I am now left crossing off the days until the third story of this series comes out...
Another amazing book, which followed on the first so well. It kept me guessing and I can safely say I love Arabella.
We are left with another major cliffhanger (can safely say I almost threw my kindle with this), and I can not wait for the third book in the series!
This was a good book 2 in the series, and I’m glad I read it. I was expecting it to move along a bit faster than it did though. It was not similar to the first book in terms of tropes and spice, this was very much a world building plot building book. That’s OK, just I wasn’t expecting it.
I’m interested to see what happens next with the plot twists that all happened in the last 20 mins or so of the book.
Overall, good story and interested to see where it goes next.
Spice : 🌶️🌶️🌶️
MFC: Arabella
MMC: Elias
Almost 24 hours later and my jaw is still on the floor! The prequel and the first book were amazing. This book is something else. Rosalyn has built an incredible world in this series that's worthy of its own map. Fae courts, Underrealms, Human villages and more. A must read for anyone who loves fantasy romance!
This book picks up right where Kissed by a Demon left off. Elias is still a prisoner of Magnus, Arabella and her enchantress sisters are at the castle, her memories are back, the mating bond is heavy, Breckett is still Breckett, the Goblins have fled and the ward is still in place. . ., but not for long.
As the castle is under attack, Hadeon (the 5th son of the Twilight Court Queen), arrives. He helps everyone escape and he, Arabella, Jessamine, Breckett and Kazimir, his General, head to the Twilight Court. Prior to departing, Hadeon's suspicions are confirmed, Arabella has Shadow Fae blood - she and her scent have changed.
While at the court, Magnus' erox show up, and they depart through the portal to the Underrealms looking for the surviving Shadow Fae, led by Prince Ardin. On their journey, looking for the Abyss, Arabella's power continues to grow, her shadows become darker, and her bond with Elias changes. They feel each other's emotions - their pain and meet in their dreams.
Finally arriving at the mountain, Arabella meets her people, she trains and learns how to control her fae magic. But more importantly, she learns about her past and the history of the Shadow fae. Ardin introduces her to the Everdark, a greater demon, and her grandfather! Yes, her grandfather. Accepting his offer, she accepts her true power becoming 1/3 human, 1/3 fae and 1/3 demon. She's the key - possessing each part of herself, she's the only one that can portal humans, fae and demons back to the fae courts. Ardin wants revenge, Everdark wants demons to rule, Hadeon wants to save the fae and Arabella wants to save Elias. Of course these goals cannot co-exist harmoniously and Hadeon is always a few steps ahead. He calls in his bargain and prevents Arabella from bringing anyone other than herself, Hadeon and Jessamine back to the fae courts. And wouldn't you know - the portal drops them in a cell of the Twilight court.
Meanwhile, the Queen is plotting with Magnus, still on her quest for immortality through the erox, and they're waiting when Arabella and her travel partners arrive. Magnus forces Arabella to make a new syphon, he kills Jessamine, brings her back as fae, gives Elias (under control of the syphon) a taste of Arabella and leaves. The Queen keeps Arabella prisoner and is one step away from banishing her son.
This book ends with a huge cliff hanger!
READ THIS SERIES
Oh my gosh! 😭🫠❤️‍🔥🥲
Very rarely does a second book almost beat the first book, but the second book was so good. It’s called devoured by shadows, but I devoured this book in less than 12 hours.
I’m still reeling from this book.
I did not think that a cliffhanger could be more crazy than the one in the first book in this series. But no, the author really outdid herself and just gave us another massive cliffhanger with book two.
Needless to say, I will be counting down the days till I can get my hands on book 3. I am feral after the ending of book 2.
It’s fast paced, but not too fast. And you’re just so eager to find out what’s going to happen and then the author breaks your heart a little. If you love angst and tortured souls then you’ll love this. The epitome of burn down the world for you. Our FMC and MMC would literally do anything for each other and it’s so beautiful and so heartbreaking at the same time!
I loved all the characters development in the fmc, but also in some of the side characters from the first book. I’m eager to see where their stories go in book 3. I’m sensing some possible love interests and spin off potential…
I cannot hype up these books enough, and when the series is complete, I will not shut up about them until everyone has read them. I haven’t been this emotional over a book in so long. So thank you Rosalyn for gifting us with this series!
Book two ‘Devoured by Shadows’ is finally out! It’s the second book from ‘The Wild Shadows’ series. Just like the first book and the novella between them. This is writtin in a 3rd person POV, ánd in a past tense.
Now to the book;
I was waiting so much for book 2, after book 1 ended with a cliffhanger. The chemistry between the two main characters really left me hanging, wanted to see ( read ) more about them.
While book 1, was about the enemies to lovers trope.
Book 2 has a forbidden love. I mean, Arabella ( an enchantress) in love with a demon ( called Elias ). That really is a forbidden love!
Arabella changed in my way, she’s stronger and more dangerous.
While Arabella is a baddas, I had the feeling that Elias grew emotionally weaker. Giving up hope, his sanity slowly getting worse…
Rosalyn gives us new characters in the book and a bigger world. Letting our imagination grow, reading who Arabella has to work with in order to save her mate.
Book 2 is even better than book 1 and the novella combined and I can’t wait to read the 3rd one.
Things you can except:
¥• Forbidden love
¥• Magic
¥• Mates
¥• 🌶️ not that much in my opinion
¥• Touch him and you’ll 💀 instead of the other way around.
Things that could be a trigger:
¥• 18+ content incl. assault
¥• Violence
¥• Torture
Thank you Rosalyn for the ARC!
ARC Review: Devoured by Shadows by Rosalyn Stirling
Release Date: Tuesday
Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️
This book was everything I hoped it would be—dark, seductive, and completely addictive. Devoured by Shadows is the kind of romance that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go.
The atmosphere alone is enough to pull you in, but it’s the characters that kept me reading. The dynamic between the leads is intense and electric—equal parts slow-burn and emotionally charged. There’s a constant push and pull between power and vulnerability, desire and danger, that I couldn’t get enough of.
What really impressed me was how Stirling managed to balance the darker themes with emotional depth. Nothing felt overdone or gratuitous—it all served the story and the characters’ arcs. The writing is immersive, the pacing strong, and there’s just enough mystery layered in to keep you guessing.
If you’re a fan of books where the romance is steamy but the emotions cut deep—this one should be at the top of your TBR. It’s dark in all the right ways.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to see what Rosalyn Stirling writes next.
Arabella is on a mission to save her mate Elias from the sorcerer Magnus, who he stupidly, and heroically offered himself up to in hopes of protecting Arabella. My heart broke for both of them so many times while reading this book.
While this one is dual POV like the first book, we see more of Arabella's POV in this one. The POVs that we got from Elias had been absolutely heartbreaking. The things that Magnus was doing to him had been horrible (but nothing too graphic), and I just wanted Arabella to hurry up and save him. But, like any good book, she goes on a crazy journey to get there as well.
Arabella will do ANYTHING to get Elias back, even if she has to make great sacrifices as well. I loved seeing her determination and her grit while looking for anyway to save Elias. She formed some unlikely, and a little rocky at times, alliances along the way. We met new characters, and had some plot twists that I never saw coming thrown in. I just know there is going to be so much more coming in the next book, and I can't wait for the showdown.
The book does end on a sharp cliffhanger, and I don't know how I'm going to make it on the wait for book 3. I want Arabelle and Elias to have their happily ever after now 😩
Key Tropes: Touch Him and Become A Piñata, Self Discovery, lost Heirs, Fated Mates. Check TW's.
"Let all who walked upon the earth feel fear for what was being done to her mate. She would take down the sky itself to get him back."
Arabella is absolutely in her villian/anti-hero era. She will do whatever it takes to save the people she loves, even if those decisions are in the grey area. That's something she's having to contend with because of her Enchantress upbringing.
Elias is still in danger, and the angst and heartbreak at what he's going through bleeds through the pages. Magnus can absolutely get these hands for what he's been doing to Elias and others. If you look up pure evil in the dictionary, his picture is next to it.
I loved getting more answers about Arabella and her past, and seeing her start to grow into her powers. My heart is absolutely broken for these two lovebirds, but I'm desperately hoping Arabella and Co. can figure out a way to get him out of Magnus' clutches!
A strong sequel to the first book in this series, and I cannot wait for the 3rd.
Wow ! What an amazing sequel to Kissed by a Demon. This series has had a chokehold on me for so long and I was so excited to get back into the world of Wild Shadows. There was a lot that happens in this book and the character growth was amazing. I loved watching Arabella come into her powers and learn more about herself and who she is. I was devastated to read about Elias and I can’t wait to see what becomes of him and Arabella. The plot does thicken in this one indeed. It was honestly an amazing read and I was hooked from the beginning. I would 100% recommend this series to anyone and im super excited to see what happens in the next book. In terms of spice this one was significantly less than the first book but it’s totally understandable with the pretence of what is happening in this book. So it’s more of a 2.5/5 so spice, there’s only a couple of scenes and there is some that doesn’t include both MCs which sort of accounts for the .5. Overall, I can’t say enough good about this book. Like the first one it was so amazing and addictive, I’m so keen to see how the series progresses. It’s a 5/5 read for me and I definitely recommend it.
arc review:
this is book two in the wild shadows series, so be sure to read the first book. you can, also, read the bonus chapter for book one where the fmc, arabella, gets her memories back.
i’ve been dying for this book after the cliffhanger we were left on in book one & i was so excited when i received my arc copy! my obsession with this world & the characters is probably a bit unhinged, but idc. if you haven’t had the chance to start this series, give it a chance! you won’t regret it💓
diving right back in where we left off, arabella is on the move to save elias; whatever it takes. however, one thing after another continues to happen that causes her to have to reevaluate her plan for obtaining an army to take down magnus.
through the obstacles, she discovers more about herself than she’s ever known & comes into her own like never before. her resilience & determination to get to her mate keeps her level-headed through the mess.
although rosalyn left us on another cliffhanger (we have to talk about this🙄), i’m waiting on the edge of my seat for book three & truthfully wouldn’t be upset if this series continued on & on & on forever🤷🏻‍♀️
📖 Quote: “Be you. Be fierce. And never apologize for it.”
The title says it all—Devoured by Shadows...
I had been waiting for this book a lot, so getting an early ARC was a dream - finally, some relief for my curiosity! 🙈
Like Kissed By A Demon, the first 35–40% felt slow. There’s a lot of information tying this story back to the previous book - so much so that, with all these steps back, it could almost work as a standalone. But then? It hits. And when it does - straight to the heart.💘🪄
And here’s where everything shifts - Arabella steps into her full power, growing stronger, wilder, more dangerous. Meanwhile, Elias? He loses - piece by piece. He gives everything away, even hope, teetering on the edge of sanity with every blow.⚡
The world expands, introducing new places and new characters, adding even more depth to the story.
This book was heavy. Emotionally raw. Painful, even. No sunshine, no pink hearts - just struggle, heartbreak, memories that cut deep, and shadows that are both emotional and physical.🖤
And if you’re hoping for a happy ending? Not this time. That’ll have to wait for the next book.
Where previous book was playful, teasing, and full of flirty tension, this book was darker - heavier. It devoured me in a completely different way.
Thank you so much to Rosalyn for an advanced copy of Devoured by Shadows, I have been patiently (impatiently) waiting for this book since book 1 ended on that crazy cliffhanger!
This story jumps right into where we left off in Kissed by a Demon, tying up all of the loose ends that we didn’t get much perspective into in book 1. The way Rosalyn was able to effortlessly world build as much as she did in this book, being as it was book 2 already, was so impressive. At no point did I have to reread due to confusion on what was going on, it all flowed so effortlessly.
If you’re going into this book expecting it to be similar in vibes to book 1, I’d tell you ahead of time that they are very different. While this book does follow the same story, it’s mostly just intense plot and world building, whereas book 1 was very much so an enemies to lovers romance with a lot of steamy scenes. I’m definitely going to be reading book 3, I need some closure omg. 🥲 ALSO the tension between Jessamine & Hadeon was so good, and now I need their book as well. 🖤 😁
Oh my gosh I was not expecting so many emotions when reading this book.
I sympathize with the FMC, Arabella who just wants to be with her mate, Elias. Even though love between an Enchantress and an Erox is forbidden, somehow they are soul mates. Only they’re not together because they keep trying to sacrifice themselves for each other!
I loved the love scenes in this book. So much description, emotion, feelings!!! I found myself very invested in their storyline. I also really enjoyed the action/fighting scenes. I love that Arabella is this strong, fierce, independent character who just wants to save her mate. I also really love the friendship shown between Arabella and her fellow Enchantress sister, Jessamine.
This story has it all. Love, friendship, action and suspense. The writing is so beautifully crafted I felt like I was watching a movie in my mind while reading. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book comes out.
Thank you to Rosalyn Stirling for allowing me to ARC read this book.
Of course I knew there was more to their story. Oh my goodness you’re leaving me wanting more. I’m not sure. I can wait for both three because I need it now. WOW, Fantastic in every way!
this book had everything i want to see in a great fantasy book! This is book. 2 about Arabella & her forbidden fae mate Elias and how she would do anything to protect that Bond! The world building was great and continued from the first, setting new troupes and added plot twists to what Rosalyn had already laid in her first book in the wild Shadows universe. I can’t speak high enough of this author and the way she crafts a story that leaves you wanting more.
this book was hot & spicy in more than one way, it had ups and downs much like most awesome stories do! i became invested in these characters in her first book and this one continued the story leaving me waiting for more and i Can’t wait for the next! this book is not for the faint of heart, but if you like a book with dark elements, surprising change, plot twists, enemies to lovers, and adventure that keep you flipping pages as quick as you can read! this book leaves you on a cliffhanger that you are like Holy batman! I need to know what happens next ASAP! i was given this book to read in advance voluntarily, my opinions and thoughts are my own! i truly loved every minute of it, and Highly recommend it, if you like a darker fantasy book with all the the wonderful things that come with one. @rosalynStirling
An enchantress fighting through wave after wave of monsters just to save her demon mate? Yes please. Elias broke my heart. He literally gave himself up to his enemy just to protect Arabella and I was not okay. The way Magnus treated him like a lab rat had me raging. Meanwhile Arabella’s on this brutal journey facing dark creatures and unraveling secrets only to realize she’s not just any enchantress… she’s so much more and I’m obsessed with that reveal.
The fae in this world gave serious ACOTAR vibes and honestly it tracks. Rosalyn loves Rhys and it shows 🤭 I was hit with twist after twist and just when I thought I could breathe... BAM another cliffhanger. I’m still not over it. Please please check the TWs before you dive in. There are heavy moments and your mental health always comes first.
This is my honest opinion on the ARC I received. Thank you so much Rosalyn for the opportunity!!!
Devoured by Shadows by Rosalyn Sterling is an immersive, fast-paced read that will captivate fans of dark fantasy and paranormal romance. The world-building is rich, with a vivid and gritty atmosphere that makes the stakes feel high from the very first page. The characters are well-developed, especially the protagonist, who is strong yet relatable, struggling with her own inner demons while navigating a dangerous world of shadows and secrets.
Sterling’s writing is sharp and engaging, keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout. The romance, while intense and steamy, doesn’t overshadow the plot, striking a good balance between character development and action. The plot twists are well-crafted, adding layers of mystery and excitement that will leave you eager to turn the page.
Overall, Devoured by Shadows is an enthralling read that will keep you hooked until the very end. Fans of dark, romantic fantasy should definitely pick it up!
Whoever came up with the idea of cliffhangers in novels, films, and TV shows really should have gotten a hard talking to. :D I truly despise them, and the cliffhanger in "Devoured by Shadows" was as bad as they get (LOL). I thought the cliffhanger of "Kissed by a Demon" was badass but things can always get worse... I do hope those of you who read this review pick up on me smiling as I write this.
"Devoured by Shadows" is a fantastic read that takes us deeper into Arabella's story. The writing is lovely, the world-building very satisfying, and the characters' growth rewarding.
The only thing I am disappointed about is the almost lack of real steam! :( The blurb for "Kissed by a Demon" promised us "a romance as steamy as A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas. (There's no fade to black here!)", and I was hoping for this to keep up in the next books too.
I received an ARC for this book. Thank you so much to the author!
I am so grateful to be on Rosalyn's reading team. Alas, I think this book actually broke a piece of my heart. I am so devastated, and while I understand books, take time to write my chest aches until I get some resolution.
Previously I said run don't walk to read Kissed by a Demon and even it's prequel, but now I have to tell you you will want to read this one and it's upcoming finale right after.
Arabella is complicated and ready to burn the world down. She is a character who is put in impossible situations and forced to make impossible choices, and those around her are no better off.
Devoured by Shadows also makes the struggle of furthering the world scope seem easy as pie. This series is phenomenal, and while I really struggle with cliffhangers, I will never stop recommending this series.
Kissed by a Demon was one of my top reads of last year so I have been desperate to dive into book 2. And Devoured by Shadows was definitely worth the wait!!
I’m a big fan of Rosalyn’s writing & I just love the world she has created within The Wild Shadows Series. So much detail draws you into the story.
Arabella is a real badass FMC. After that cliffhanger at the end of KBAD, she is absolutely set on getting to Elias in any way possible. So, some revelations & the discovery of a map lead to two enchantress’s, a demon & a sneaky Fae Prince heading off on a quest, of sorts.
I was absolutely hooked from the beginning & couldn’t put it down!! I can’t tell you how pleased I am that there is a third book planned for this series as I genuinely adore these characters. Particularly the banter between Arabella & Jessamine (who is definitely one of my fave side characters!).
Highly recommend this series!
For every woman who’s longed for a man (or partner) who’d do anything for her… But realized you were the one in the relationship who’d burn down the world for him. And I'M WITH ARABELLA TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE
Damn, this book was far twisted and heartbreaking filled with anguish than the first book. The book ends on a choking cliffhanger— I need to desparately know what happens next!
Rosalyn always slay it with the spicy scenes in her book, especially with Arabella and Elias— but as much as her steamy scenes are good. The other element which leaves me smitten with Rosalyn's books is the extensive world building— the legends, history, myth weaved around bloody battles, timelines for each character and the magic system. I wasn't confused at any moment in the book, I must applaud Rosalyn's ability to do so.
Thanks a ton Rosalyn for the ARC.
I received this ARC in exchange for a review...
Wow. What a ride! Stirling delivers on the promises she has set up in the first book. Here we finally discover more of Arabella's past and her powers beyond those of being an enchantress. We also have to watch in horror of what Elias must endure while Arabella is leveling up to save him.
Also, I came here for the smut and Stirling never disappoints! You are probably wondering how can two lovers who are far away from each other can still manage to get it on? It makes perfect sense in the book - you will just have to read it to find out!
I devoured this book in days and I am ready for the third book yesterday! Where is it, Rosalyn? I am so excited to see what happens next!
What can I say? I patiently waited for this second book, eager to see how Arabella and her mate’s story would unfold—and wow, it did not disappoint!
The plot twists and character development were incredible. This book kept me engaged and craving more. Arabella will burn the world down for him, and I can’t wait to see them all pay.
With demons, fae, dark and spicy moments, and forbidden love, this story had me on the edge of my seat. I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers, and let me tell you—this one is so good!
Now, once again, I’m patiently waiting for book three to release.
Great job, @Rosalyn Stirling! Any book that keeps me on my toes is an easy five-star read for me. I am so invested in these two!
Received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
My poor heart, Rosalyn!!!! I need book 3 asap!
I love the lore of this fantasy, I love the demons and fae and always finding new layers to everything. I think I especially loved that this book was about Arabella mostly, finding out her heritage and her power. Shadow mommy indeed 🤭
But the endings of these books are tearing me apart!! Both of them need to just stay together in one place! I need a HEA in this series or else I will die!!
I was also thinking there might be room for a Jessamine spin off, maybe with Breckett or Hadeon, but now I’m not so sure either are worthy of her. I do hope they get the shadow fae out, the Queen needs to go 👋
And Magnus needs to go as well!!
Really loving this story!
This story reads differently for me from the previous story. The plot is interesting and the characters Arabella, Prince Hadeon, Breckett, Cora Elias and Jessamine maintain close proximity to the story. The dialogue is alright, but I felt that it was more of young adults language rather than adults. It did take a few chapters before Elias and Arabella to connect. The action between the main characters and the other villain characters was good. The descriptive details were perfect for my imagination. The romance and steamy storyline was hot. The writer really shared her excellent writing skills in these scenes. I had a terrific time reading the continuation of this story and I definitely look forward to the next journey. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!
No no no no no!!!! Why did book two have to end like that!?!?! Oh I'm so mad right now because I'm going to cry until I can read book 3!! I honestly liked this one so much more than book one! Mind you, book one was so good!!! This one has more actions, sadness, love, and so much more. Ugh I couldn't put this one down either! I had to finish is asap!
I cried reading what was happening to Elias and what he did for Arabella and everything that else happens in this book. I don't want to ruin it but expect for your heart to break, be mad, and want to throw your book half way cross the room. Because I sure did want to after finishing it. I don't trust half the people in this book and I do want Magnus to go down so bad!!! Ugh I need book 3 now!
