This is a handy, car-door pocket-sized book. It has a wealth of eateries and interesting places to visit ‘just off the motorway’.

If you are fed up with expensive, burger and chip motorway service station food and need something more hot and filling than a homemade sandwich and flask of coffee, then this is for you. The book is organised in number order, so it is easy to find the motorway you are looking for. Then pick your stretch of road or junction and there are plenty of places to choose from. Cafés, pubs, restaurants, they’re all listed, along with satnav instructions, charming pencil drawings of the eatery, opening times, telephone numbers, websites, e-mail addresses and other useful information.

With this book you can make the long trek from one end of the country to the other a holiday in itself as it includes places of interest as well as eateries.

If you know of somewhere that’s not listed in the book, but would be useful to other travellers you can contact the author and it will be included in the next edition!
