This is the first of Jonathan Routh's delightful picture books about the Nuns. The 7 nuns spend nearly all their time helping people, but every year they go on a holiday, and this year they decide to set off for their holiday on a raft. After travelling thousands of miles, they find themselves on an island, where they think they see some other nuns, but they turn out to be penguins. the nuns have a very good time with the penguins, who were shipwrecked on their way to a circus in Europe, and have a lot of Circus Things with them. the nuns have a very exciting time trying out the Circus Things. The story is very funny, and has wonderful colourful illustrations by the author.
