A beginner's guide to genealogy

Maureen started her journey to her family's past without a map to guide the way. It was a stormy voyage into the unknown and she needed a book to ease her way but could not find a user-friendly version.

She since helped others in their quest and it was often suggested to her that she should write a book, as her insights proved invaluable to them.

Irish/American families will find this particularly interesting.

In this guide Maureen provides answers to many research questions, ranging from where to start, what to do and how to present the results. Alongside this information she offers hints and tips on how to avoid the pitfalls she encountered throughout the process.
Here Maureen presents you with the key to unlock your own treasure chest. Savour its delights.

Digging up bones

Had some information that interested me. Nothing as far back as I needed to be. Around 1835 or so. What did interest me was the baptism of the child by the father while the mother stayed at home. When asked the mother's name it was misunderstood as his. Also the fact that the bride was usually married into her own parish while growing up. I am not sure if this is the Maureen O'Hara.
