Stoicism and Christianity

Rate this book
Stoicism was the predominant philosophy in the Greco-Roman world when Christianity came on the scene, but most Christians are unaware of the contest of worldviews that resulted. In the same cultural context, both Stoicism and Christianity answered the most fundamental questions of human existence. Looking at some of their sayings side-by-side, we can see that sometimes they were very similar. These ideas are pitted against each other to this day, as Stoicism rises from the sands of time to challenge the Western World once again.

balanced mix

This is a lovely mix of Bible verses and Stoic writings to show that God was working in the hearts of Romans even though they didn’t know the true source of their hope.
