I'm currently staying at the Sonoma home of Michael Miley, a former writer for UFO Magazine who happens to be one of my oldest and dearest friends. He also happens to be a continual challenge and that, perhaps, is a reason we are so close. It's mutual. The challenges are both characterological and intellectual. Mike's of Latin extraction, I'm of Scandinavian. Stereotypes apply.

On the subjects of UFOs, parapsychology, the afterlife, remote viewinge and the like I tend to be skeptical. Michael persistently attempts to convince me of the reality of such matters in a manner which challenges some of my most considerately held understandings of reality. This book, like the one by Timothy Good that he also had me read during this visit, is an attack on the UFO front.

I picked UFO Investigator up reluctantly, Tony Dodd being unknown to me and his credential as a former cop not evoking immediate respect. However, in deference to friendship, I dug in and found myself liking the authorial persona of Mr. Dodd pretty early on. He sounds earnest. He sounds sincere. He sounds honest. His stories worked. While I was reading him I too believed in alien spacecraft from two or more civilizations abducting men and women and mutilating other animals for biological research purposes. After all, several governments are devoting great effort to cover up these events and their complicity in them.

But do I really believe this? Here, frankly, I'm torn. I want to believe folks like Mr. Dodd and, in a sense, I do. Some things are going on which associate with UFOs and apparent non-human intelligences. Indeed, I've encountered such intelligences myself on occasion, though never in association with flying objects, known or unknown. That, the subject of non-human intelligence, fascinates me in all respects, informing not only my understanding of psychology, but also my study of the phenomenology of theophany, ethnobotany, cultural anthropology, psychopharmacology etc. People have had, throughout recorded history, intercourse with apparent aliens of various sorts. What's a stretch is assigning them to material spacecraft, objectively verifiable. Dodd is convinced that the evidence is in. He's got hands-on expertise. I don't.

While not a thorough survey of the whole UFO business this book might serve as a informal introduction to the topic, especially for residents of the UK or USA from whence come most of his stories.

Superb.: This is the first book in a long while that give you NEW information and facts about the subject.

Some of it is pure X-files, but I have no reason to believe that Dodd is a liar. He tell's it like it is, and he will convince you that SOMETHING must be going on that we don't understand.

You won't be able to put it down once you start to read it - if you believe in what is written or not.

Some of the stories make you feel he is lucky to be still alive! This man has been the closest yet to uncovering the truth.

A must buy for anyone interested in UFO's and all it's many avenues.

This is a sort of retro book written in more modern times, it has a lot of conspiracy, and classical cases in it, which is interesting, and as a bonus, it goes deep into the field of animal mutilation and even mentions human mutilations. The author also explains at length how he became a researcher and goes at length on what seems to be a long relationship of telepathy with the occupants of the UFOs. Interesting book and a very easy read.

Very interesting read. Considering the books age, and the recent releases by u.s government of u.s military aircraft video recording such craft, Mr Dodds book becomes far more convincing. He describes craft acting in the same manner years before “official” video evidence came out. Worth a read even for the sceptics.
