This series is a chore. I wanted to give it a fair shot and read what was available before passing judgment, it's a lot of fun for the first few volumes, but it constantly feels like the author is trying to hit a word quota

"Flio, smiling his usually easy going smile..." multiple times in a paragraph or reintroducing the same main characters in a slightly shuffled way every chapter gets stale fast

The story is written in a way that feels like the only way it can end is if somehow the nigh omnipotent main character dies, but half the people living in his "household" are walking nukes with enough power to end the planet multiple times over, then change planets and do it again

It's got high points for sure, but many of the gags get stale fast ("this is our adopted dragon daughter, oh, looks like she's naked again"; "this is our biological daughter, we all know she wants nothing more than to make more siblings with her dad, but we smile and ignore that"). If you're able to get past all that, it is a laid-back story where the main characters never face any real danger and just kind of go about their lives

I'll probably continue it sometime down the road because Garyl and Ellie's relationship is one of the cuter storylines currently on-going, but I don't expect much else going forward
