A goddess bound by duty and the god who’ll sacrifice everything to set her free.
Persephone, goddess of spring, is sheltered by her powerful Olympian mother, Demeter. Yet, against her mother's stern decree to shun all men, be they mortal or divine, Persephone finds herself ensnared by the allure of a mysterious stranger wandering through her sanctuary.
In clandestine rendezvous spanning countless moons, Persephone's fascination blooms into an unexpected love, only to unveil that her paramour is no mere mortal but the enigmatic Hades, sovereign ruler of the shadowed realm beneath the earth. Despite the whispers of dread from the mountaintop goddesses, Persephone glimpses the benevolent heart within the god of the Underworld.
Torn between living in a world where she is beholden to obedience and a life of ruling alongside the god who has stolen her heart, Persephone ultimately chooses freedom. As Demeter's fury erupts in the wake of her daughter's perceived abduction, the earth quakes with her wrath, threatening to unravel both mortal and divine realms in her relentless pursuit to reclaim Persephone.
Discover a world where the death of innocence becomes a rebirth of self.
The Flower and the Flame reimagines the myth of Hades and Persephone, shining a light on the dark road to becoming the master of one’s own fate.
Kerri has always told tall tales. When she was in the third grade, she hid her glasses in the linen closet and told her mother a ghost must have stolen them. As you might imagine, that story didn’t end well.
Today, however, she tells more lighthearted tales, with happier endings. Fond of making people laugh, and forever a fan of folklore and mythology, she blends heart and humor with a dash of magic into her stories.
Kerri lives in Michigan with her husband, son and cat they lovingly but aptly refer to as The Maleficence, Mel for short.
As a Greek lady here, I am in love with that mythos. I love Hades and Persephone! it's by far my favorite myth. i remembered why I didn't like Demeter, and I am very glad that the author chose not to side with her and try to portray her like the tragic mother who is losing her daughter but what she is truly, a manipulative mother who tries to guilt trip her daughter to stay with her because she wants to keep her. I felt the suffocation of Persephone. i loved how Hades is portrayed here also. He respects Persephone and loves her deeply. He is also a poliplex character. exactly what it suits the Lord of the Underworld.
I am currently in my Hades x Persephone phase, as time to time happens to me. I really enjoyed the way the author wrote. Thank you, dear author.

A gorgeous Hades and Persephone retelling. Hades and Persephone are both beloved characters and this iteration of their love story is soft and pure. Persephone has an innate strength that comes to bear. Cerberus graces is with his presence. Demeter is still overbearing. But Zeus was actually tolerable. And we even get to catch a glimpse of Heracles.
Love this reimagining of Hades and Persephone! Very quick read with lots of feelings. Love, honor, duty, betrayal. All in 130 pages! This second novella in the Fated and Cursed series is one you’ll want to read.
