Jillian Hart has reached her breaking point. Every moment of her day is seemingly consumed catering to her family’s needs and wants as a wife and mother of two. Her only source of solace is the day spa, where she works as a part-time esthetician. Even that is at risk of being taken away by Ivan Hart, Jillian’s demanding husband, and his unrealistic expectations.

When her husband does the unthinkable, Jillian flees with her children to Colemanville, North Carolina to the home of her maternal grandmother, Nana Flo. At her lowest, Jillian must reassess her life and confront the choices that have derailed her dream of owning a day spa specializing in esthetician services.

In Colemanville with Nana Flo’s help, Jillian discovers she and her great-grandmother, Iva Rae Coleman, are kindred spirits after learning intimate details about Iva’s life. With this revelation, she accepts that the crumbling of her marriage was unavoidable to propel her toward her destiny to carry on the Coleman family legacy.

Join the journey of this wandering beauty to see if family secrets, scandals, and her husband’s determination to reconcile will hinder Jillian from fulfilling her destiny.

I'm super torn on this one. I feel like I need to justify my rating because this wasn't a bad book. I have specific reasons why it's low. But it's complicated. Basically, I don't like that the couple reconciled. He did a lot of things to atone for his behavior in the beginning of the book, but in my opinion, he never took responsibility for his behavior. He blamed it on everyone and everything other than his own character failure. I feel a little bad about being unforgiving but that's how I feel.

The other reason is because I think this author made the characters from book 1 less likable. They did things that were out of character from how the author of book one established. (They are written by 2 different authors.)

The good parts were good. The family legacy. The complicated history of the American South's genealogy and family trees. Family supporting family. There's no place like home. I loved all that. I also have to admit that maybe this book is trying to teach that marriage is hard but it's worth working on and not just giving up on. But I think reconciliation has to happen under the right circumstances.

I may bump this up to 3 star... I was completely vested.

Happy reading.

Suzette Riddick did a great job in continuing the saga of the Coleman family of Colemanville, North Carolina. Generation 2 introduces us to Jillian Hart the granddaughter of Flo from FOREVER BEAUTIFUL. Flo is now known as Nana Flo, and she is the epitome of the anchor for her family.
Jillian finds herself in a loveless marriage, and she and her children pack their belongings and head to Colemanville, family, who love , care and welcome them with open arms. Nana Flo is Jillian’s rock, and confidante. I love their relationship. This story covers everything from loyalty, love, being true to yourself, forgiveness, and of course family. Both FOREVER BEAUTIFUL AND WANDERING BEAUTY are exquisitely written and thoroughly entertaining.
The storyline is solid with characters who bring it to life! I highly recommend WANDERING BEAUTY for your reading pleasure. Make sure you read FOREVER BEAUTIFUL first. You can thank me later.

I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. It was so good. It was also great in seeing the connection to another book. My favorite part was with Jillian and her strength and determination. Her growth was one of the best parts of the story. I have been an emotional wreck after finishing this book, and I am excitedly anticipating the next book in this series.

What A Beautiful Story!! 🥰🥰🥰

“My baby’s voice trembled when he condemned his father. ‘You were wrong for bringing that lady from your office here. Hugging her all out in the open, disrespecting Ma.’ Ivan roared, ‘All of you can get the hell out if you don’t like it.’ Nana Flo’s words knocked me right between the eyes. Except I wasn’t worried about Ivan respecting me. It was time for me to start respecting myself.”

Whew! And there you go and there they went!! Packed and off to Colemanville, North Carolina!! I will tell you that you must read “Forever Beautiful” by Suzette D Harrison first to understand the dynamics and characters in this story! There are still secrets going on, drama, disrespect, love, second chances for reconciliation and so much more!! Both of these books are Must Reads!! So grab your copy and immerse yourself into the world of Colemanville and The Coleman’s! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!! Kudos, Suzette!! 💜💜

I purchased my copy but was also provided an advanced copy for reading and providing my own honest and personal review! 💜💜

Wandering Beauty!!!

This book had second chance undertones even though Jillian and Ivan were a married couple. Jillian felt unappreciated in her marriage and escaped back to Colemanville and Nana Flo. The way that Nana Flo gave back to Jillian's spirit was exactly what she needed. The way that Jillian wanted to keep the history of Iva Rae going was heart-warming. I was glad that Jillian's parents saw what she needed and supported her this time around. It was good to find out what happened to some of the characters from Book 1. I enjoyed all of the friend relationships - Jillian and sister-in-law, the 2 nieces as well as Jillian and Wendy even though they didn't get along in the past. I was ecstatic when Ivan came to his senses and realized what he lost in Jillian and the way he handled those awful parents in the end. The way they acted you would have never thought they had secrets but oh they did. Ivan standing by Jillian's decision, supporting her and finally seeing her was just what they needed in the end. Great book!!!

Full Circle

Thank you Suzette for this book. It really helped me to understand what happened to some of the other characters in Forever Beautiful By Suzette Harrison. I wanted more from Packer's character. I wanted to know what became of Caleb and Joshua. It was just a hint of a divide coming between Flo and Joshua and I wanted Packer to step up an give him a strong male role model when his father Everett did not. Or did he (Everett) model the life Joshua wanted? I give a high five to Wendy for embracing her roots. You never know the hurt people may be experiencing at home that sometimes might cause them to react in jealousy. This might also apply to Ivan's mother. I could go on but Great read, thanks.

Wandering Beauty

Suzette that was a good summer read. It takes courage to wander because you don’t know what is going to happen. Taking a step on faith means a lot. I am glad it worked out for Jillian. I read Book 1 first, so that was good. It has been awhile since I have come across a good book. These 2 books have satisfied my hunger. The next Generations will be icing on the cake. I want to move to Colemanville. Respect your Elders, they full of knowledge, wisdom and secrets.

Wandering Beauty

This was a story about Jillian and Ivan Hart. They had been married for almost two decades however their marriage had become stale. She felt unloved and miserable. She assumed Ivan was having an affair and he felt wasn't fulfilling her domestic duties. He also began arguing with their children. Jillian decided to visit her material grandmother for rest and relaxation which led to an amazing outcome.

Emotional!

Storytelling at its best! This story evoked a lot of my family history and whispered secrets. Sadly so many Black families never get to know their family history due to the shame and closely held secrets. This story reached home for me and made me very emotional. Awesome story.

Excellent read

Excellent read, I loved the characters and storyline. Jillian was unhappy in her marriage. With her 2 children visits her family home in Colemansville. Amidst uncovering family secrets and making life changing decisions. She gets clarity and reignites love and passion in her marriage, and family. I look forward to the next installment.

Blood Is The Key

Wandering Beauty, brought tears to my eyes. Two characters I wanted to just say listen. A character I didn't like, but grew to love and respect. I am so anticipating the continuing books in this saga. Well done twins.

Great Read

I loved this book. The author developed the characters so well it made me long for an older wise woman in my life. I was at first frustrated thinking the female characters were weak but I love the strength the possessed.

Excellent

Loved both book 1 and 2! The family lines and its secrets will forever be remembered. Great writing and a little-lot steamy scene to boot. Not a fan of profanity in my reading but overall highly recommended!
