There's a trio of pals who are being split up for a few months, two of them being cousins. One girl is from New York and the other two are more into ranches and horses. At this point various adventures have left them with a mustang mare, Shadow, not broken yet, and they are in Canada but not at Mustang Mountain ranch, learning barrel racing with another two young people they meet. I enjoyed the horse scenes and some of the girls' changes in personality were funny, as they gain new interests and grow up a bit more by taking responsibility.
I picked this book up without having read earlier instalments, and there's a lot of backstory to deliver at the start, not to mention I kept getting the girls mixed up until about halfway. If you have read the other books you will doubtless love the tale.

This book was truly amazing. It connects with the characters and horses. I couldn't put the book down and wanted to keep turning the page. There was never a boring bit.
The ending was amazing but there is always one character that you wish had a little more time and wasn't so selfish. Then again, there is always a character you can relate to and feel sorry for just like I did with Becky. The surroundings, emotions, horses were all perfect and nothing was out of place. The one question I can ask is 'what if?'
I recommend this book to people over 10 and horse lovers :)

My favorite pay was when Allison learned to barrel race.the worst part was when Sara feel off of her horse.the best character was Sara.the worst character was Jake Grady.Auryn 9 years old
