As usual with these collected comic strips, there’s no overarching plot or story. Just a series of jokes that resort to the daft end of humour to elicit a laugh. Something that I did a fair bit in this brilliant book.

Doris comes to visit Beau leading to him fondly remembering the romantic gift he left for her in the garden...'the postman stood on it-damn near blew his leg off'. Egon is obsessed with serving sherry trifle, The Nomad decides to try The Wooden Camel ploy to get into the Fort and we see the return of The Desert Shadow. The best bit is when Beau tries to teach Dennis about History and Dennis gets angry 'I know everything about Frankie Duck and the Spanish Armadillo!'
