Loveable. A quirky fry cook with a pension for fluffy flapjacks(the secret of which is not disclosed) is led on various adventures by otherworldly insights. Well written and thought out, Koontz is a great storyteller.

I enjoyed this series, though I had to nudge myself through some of the long middle builds. Koontz comes up with great characters that exist on the fringe of the mainstream world.

These novels grew on me. I had read the first one after hearing all the hype about it (still wanting to see the movie) I thought I was getting into a set of horror novels and was disappointed - as I often am with hyped books - on that regard. They are however great mysteries, while I was able to spot some of the red herrings I was never able to figure out where the story would go next.

After getting into the story, I found that the supporting characters where amazing (although it wasn't until this book that I really started to like Odd). While the writing rambles quite a bit and I did find it annoying at times but as I went along it grew on me. I have gotten to the point where I would recommend these novels although during the second book I had my doubts.

I "read" all these novels on audiobook and the speaker was phenomenal

The books that guaranteed Koontz’s place as my favourite author.

The Odd Thomas series is truly wonderful. It is filled with all of Koontz’s trademarks. The wonderful characters. The gripping storyline. The heartbreak. The wit. The philosophy. Everything you love about Koontz is brought together in this wonderful series as we follow Odd Thomas on his rather peculiar journey through life.

Whether you’re a Koontz fan or simply a fan of the supernatural, I suggest you give these books a read.

Although I love Dan Koontz, I just am not that bog of a fan of Odd Thomas. I will always keep coming back though, because Dean Koontz is such a great story teller
