Very extensive book with practical tips, case studies and theory. I found it really interesting but I don’t think I learnt anything new from it - this could be an indication of reading too many HR books! Definitely a good one for a comprehensive overview. Thanks to NetGalley and Kogan Page for the ARC.
A must read for anyone working in human resources. What I appreciated most is that it doesn’t just rehash old HR theories—it brings a fresh, modern perspective that highlights how HR can (and should) be a strategic driver of business success. Joey writes in a way that’s both engaging and easy to follow, even when discussing big-picture strategy or data analytics. He makes you feel like HR has real power and responsibility—not just administratively, but in shaping culture, leadership, and results.
