I bought this book for my three year-old daughter, and we read it tonight for the first time. I must clarify...we read it three times in a row! She LOVED this story. Not only did she enjoy the rhymes and pictures, but she discussed what we were reading as we went along. For example, "My shoes are on my floor!"

As an adult, I liked Ms. Bloom's book. Specifically, I enjoyed the words, the story itself. Although the illustrations fit well, they are basic clip art. Based on the cover, I was expecting photos.

However, Ms. Bloom's target audience, young readers such as my daughter, will love it completely.

Since my daughter and I enjoyed Barbara Bloom's first two books as much as we did, we decided to go back for the third!

Your Shoes My Shoes was just as adorable as the others. The lovely rhymes flowed beautifully and were easy to follow while the colorful images went well with the story, which described all the different types of shoes out there and who they might be best suited for. My personal favorite were the sparkly shoes while my daughter leaned more towards the clown shoes...I'm hoping she'll grow out of that.

As I've come to expect from Barbara Bloom's books, there were once again elements of education as she touched on counting, as well as colors, in addition to basic knowledge related to shoes in general.

Something we can all relate to–shoes. It’s a clever little story, in the vein of Dr. Seuss’s offerings. A small child would love the simple poetry and the large, friendly pictures that go with the words. Ms. Bloom knows how to connect with little ones, who do not look for complications. They want a simple story, short and sweet, and Ms. Bloom delivers.

The "illustrations" are only clip-art, and the clip-art images chosen aren't even stylistically similar. There are much better free/inexpensive picture books available for Kindle than this one.
