From the inner flap: Set in Ancient Egypt, Aida is a story of love. In this special adaptation of young readers, the Verdi opera has all the magic and beauty that has made it so famous throughout the years.
Aida is an Ethiopian slave girl at the court of the Pharaohs, who falls in love with Radames, and Egyptian warrior. Unknown to all, Aida is the daughter of the King of Ethiopia. Aida finds herself torn between her consuming love for Radames and her duty to her father.
This is a complex story for a 5 year old. It is basically a very entrancing Romeo and Juliet story. I loved it.
