I had to read this book for Christian Ethics class. I think many of us are not really aware of the groundwork form on which our ethics are derived. This concise book presents five different models on how scripture is used in the formation of ethics. It does us well to be cognizant of our theological/philosophical/hermeneutical basis for a code of ehtics.

slogged through this in parts, but overall i thought it a useful work to understand how the ethical system of a Christian (or a organization, movement, etc.) can profoundly affect (positively and negatively alike) the approach to biblical hermeneutics and chosen emphasis on that which is learned.
